The reason Yuuki can beat Kirito is that she "lived" out the fight which gives her the speed surpassing normal people who only dives in. In that case she was superior to Kirito in her censoric control since she's using a full-body full-dive machine.

So, I just had a thought about the latest arc, Alicization, that I couldn't quite suspend my disbelief and wasn't sure if anyone had the same feeling..
Basically the author has stated that the premise that the gov't is trying to design "bottom-up AI" so that they can be used for military purposes and that's the whole reason UW was developed and all this other stuff. That's the setting. Fine.. -- Except I don't buy it. Why would you need "bottom-up AI" for this? Actually, it's the opposite, you'd want AI that would mimic a "perfect soldier" nothing more, nothing less. A full "bottom-up AI" for military purposes is actually worse.. It's like adding extra/unknown factors to a tool like a "drill" and making it unpredictable.. That's like the absolute OPPOSITE of what the military wants.. |

Because sometimes a perfect soldier must think outside the box on the battlefield and react to unexpected situations. That's where traditional AI might make a mistake due to lack of information, but a "true" AI would be able to make the best call given what it knows.

You might think otherwise, but practically speaking an army is only effective when it's soldiers don't individually make decisions or ask too many questions. EDITED: I meant "top down" Last edited by willx; 2012-09-04 at 12:56. |

So there's no way that would work. It's a perfect recipe for disaster waiting to happen.

Like I said, however you look at it, it just wouldn't work. It would be Matrix all over again.
