Ok, this was somewhat foreseeable. Whether she's gone for good or not they were bound to make this kind of move anyways. It sadly may take a year or so to find out if she's gone for good, but eventually that question will be resolved.

I'm going to certainly hope she comes back. No matter what she couldn't be tied permanently to the card. That wasn't a long-term solution of any kind. Even if they got back then they'd just have the Mage Association coming after that card. So if she's going to be around long term...they've got to find some kind of solution. They do have some holy grails so if they are going to save the world along the way...why not save Kuro while they are doing it? Besides be kind of perfect to make her come back after trying to go out with a cool last message to Illya and Miyu.

If not...well that's not a bad way to go. An action packed showdown might have been better. But going out while using her wits isn't bad at all. Making the perfect use of that origin bullet with perfect timing. A pretty rough method in terms of the personal sacrifice, but it does work.

Will have to see if that's really it for Darius. Be a bit surprising to see him go out without ever revealing his trick. But also frees up...I guess Lancelot Sakura or Gilgamesh to be the final boss? Guess we'll have to wait for the immediate aftermath to see where things go.

I'd be impressed if they had the balls to kill Chloe off for realsies. Surprised as well since I didn't think they'd want to give up the fanservice she brings to the series. Still if she's got to go out she went out in a respectable fashion. Can't ask for much better of a send off.

Ummm...yep. That happened.

I guess this confirms that something will be done to turn things around since I can't imagine this story being willing to kill off Kuro and Miyu....plus Sapphire. Because I'm pretty sure Sapphire was still being held onto by Miyu in that moment.

Geeze this got absolutely bonkers. And of course Gilgamesh is just flying around without a freaking care in the world! I'm glad Tanaka is up to asking Gilgamesh for a favour. Not sure what it could possibly be or why she did end up just hanging around doing nothing the whole time. But yeah she's at least out there.

So, no idea where we are going now. Darius turned into...Surtr. Army of freaky giants have emerged. Miyu got eaten...but in an even worse way than when giant Gilgamesh did it. Kuro has disappeared. The cards are gone. Sapphire seems gone with Miyu so zwei form is out even if Illya could handle using it again. I suppose technically crazy Sakura is still out there with rule breaker, but that seems really low on the priority list considering all that other stuff. And honestly I can't even remember what state Pandora is in, but probably isn't good.

Pretty darn hopeless in all honesty.

Or perhaps they're just going to send a thoroughly traumatized Illya home as the sole survivor and just go full throttle bad ending and end the series there as just kind of a final f*** you.

Well, Tanaka is still there and the two remaining girls are both technically grails. They've still got some ways to fix this.

I have no doubt that Illya will be back home* in the next chapter, but it has already been announced 3rei has ended, but this series has not. So my bet is a whole new level of despair as "the people that have been searching for illya" since chapter 1 will come to the forefront of the story.

*mind you, I do not guarantee Illya will have a house to return to.

p.s. The more I think about it, the more it looks like last chapter is a clear "watch the movie to see the bad ending in its full glory".

Well the only thing that can really make this get any worse is if it starts leaking into Illya's world.

But sheesh it looks like the entire mission of this series is completely and abject Mission Failed and teetering on a total Raid Wipe.

Well if they're going to start a whole new series arc without resolving this one, it seems like it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Man we just need one final chapter omake doing a Tiger Dojo for the 3rei series.....

I am guessing that the favor that Tanaka is asking Gilgamesh is most likely part of a plan that will most likely lead to the ultimate defeat of Darius Ainsworth. Right now I am thinking that it is to bring everyone not from Miya's World back to the world they are from.

That alone will mess over Darius because Gilgamesh already said that one Holy Grail alone is not enough to fulfill Darius's wish/plan/goal. So Darius will without a doubt attack Illya's World to try and get the Second Holy Grail(Illya). A World that is far stronger/still in it prime, unlike the weaken/dieing World that Miya is from. I think Tanaka is playing some Meta Chess Game with Darius with the two worlds that will lead to Darius's ultimate defeat. Can't wait to see Darius cry like the little baby he is at the end of Part 4 or Part 5 in most likely 10 years if the manga continue to be as slow as it had been.

With what exactly? He's a normal dude in Illyaverse. At least I can't remember any hints or indication he's gotten any Magus training. I highly doubt it.
