It is,
Spoiler for Episode 3:
Now I can understand omitting certain details and switching things around a bit for the sake of time constraints, but this doesn't make any sense to me at all. ...Are they just trying to focus the first two episodes more so on Taito and Himea and then focusing more so on Gekkou afterwards? If this is their real intent, it seems to me like a misguided attempt by which to promote the main couple as much as they can so as to capture people's attention and hopefully boost sales. maybe generic, but I watch it.
Not many shows have much action in it nowadays. Also, its somehow slightly hilarious how the main character ends up having to die 30+ times an episode. He still seems to feel pain though, you think the mental scarring of dying so many times would drive him insane alone... I assume after Taito blacked out, and was out of lives, Gettou probably did something to save him in exchange for his and Himea's cooperation to follow him.

Well I watched the first two episodes, I'm a big fan of Kagami and I love Denyuuden, so I gave this a chance after reading whats translated over at Baka-Tsuki. I have to say that the first two episodes were pretty disappointing, there was no reason to skip the Gekkou backstory and just add it later it killed a lot of the hype leading to the fight.
Well I will follow this to the end and hope they do a better job. |

Skipping Gekkou's backstory was the right choice here imo. In just two episodes, it would be a little too much for us to digest tragic past of two characters. As for hyping the fight with Hinata, only Taito's past is enough for that. Two backstories back to back would have been a bit annoying(considering we have to wait a week for a new episode unlike the novel in which we can read the whole volume in one go).
As for the adaptation, I wouldn't say I liked episode 2 very much. The problem here isn't really skipping parts of novel, but rather the pace at which they adapted the volume. I mean except Taito and Himea, what do we know about other characters here? Before we have a chance to have a real look at their personalities, their role is over and a new character appears. Even when they were fighting, it was too fast for any real tension to be build. Also the backstory sucked. It didn't help us connect with the characters. Looked like they covered just enough to tell us what happened. But if they are only going to cover 4 volumes, this leaves more episodes for the other volumes. Hopefully they are better

well, according to Kagami, volume 1 is actually foreshadowing and volume 2 is the real start, so I hope more people stick around till episode 5. that's always how it works with him, build-up, build-up, more build-up; that's probably why they try to capture as much audience as possible through heavy action, though I'm not too sure whether it's really working. though I must admit that, compared to Denyuuden, some of the lines in Itsuten are really cheesy to the point of face-palming, but still within the nature of the characters, I feel.
funniest thing for me regarding this series: the actual story only starts in volume 5 but it won't be adapted in this cour! |

Curiously, based upon what you've seen so far, do you honestly believe Itsu-Ten has a chance at its sales being strong enough for a 2nd Season?
I know it's quite a bit early to be discussing something like this, but given the confusion and disappointment many viewers are expressing, it's not looking too promising at the moment. |

"fanservice show with generic action with shallow cliche character and confusing storyline, this is as bad as Hidan no Aria last season" From what I gather, the readers got disappointed while the new watchers just dismiss it off as being boringly bad. I was really disappointed by the first ep of DYD, and probably wouldn't have watch the 2nd ep if not for that one flashback scene near the end of the episode. Just dropping subtle hints here and there could capture the imagination of the viewers, but somehow this series didn't do it in those 2 episodes.

Well... that aside, we all know how HnA ended. Still, at the rate Itsu-Ten is going, perhaps it's all for the best. I'd rather see the anime crash and fail than have a 2nd Season distort it anymore than it already is. |

Ugh, that ED was awful. I hate songs and animation sequences like that. Seems so cheap, overdone, and lame. As for the episode itself, still moving along at a fast rate, but it was better than the last episode I'd say. I feel bad for Haruka. She's so adorable. <3

finally ep3 showed some life in the story. However I find it a little too late, and still troubled by bad pacing issues.
that being said, i'll still watch it. Hopefully underneath the massacred writing I can still find traces of great emotions like in DYD. Still love that fireworks scene.

You mean the ending, right? Well, look at it this way.
Technically we only had Himea's ending (since each ending corresponds to a specific character) in the 2nd Episode and Mirai's for the 3rd. Might we anticipate an upcoming Haruka ending? I wouldn't be surprised at this point. All things considered however, this is quite unusual. I've never seen an anime, especially one this short, change its ending after only one episode. Most producers, I would think, would find that a waste of its budget. |
