Why hasn't Mikoto or Tate made their appearances yet in Destiny?
I'm starting to wonder if they'll ever show up at all.

They won't....even checked the last volume. Mai flies solo here....this independent Mai is pretty cool though. She really shows this side of her in the last two chapters of the novel as well. The drama CD version of her definitely does her justice

Aww man, that sucks. I was so looking forward to seeing them in Destiny.
But the way you described Mai is so making me look forward to keeping track with Destiny. I'm so looking forward to seeing Mai act so cool and stuff!

Yeah Mai is pretty funny in this one. She's good friends with Natsuki and Mai is known as the "Dragon Priestess” and she does a lot of the snooping and investigating around the campus on her own...Let's just say she's one of the key people at the end.

Apparently she's also studied abroad at the Windbloom school.

Definitely something else. Think of how in Hime, they had Orphans to deal with first, then Searrs, then the real story. There are probably some hints within the first few chapters of the novels of what's to come, with that statue near the beginning being one of them, I think.

So, Lone Wolf, since I think you're one of the few people here who has any sense of what's going on in the remaining chapters of the novels, what did you think of this series?

I actually loved it.


There were quite a few red herrings that I wasn't expecting like:

.....Akane being the actual leader of the Suzaku party...and let's just say that the Gakuencho is a key in all that's going down....as Mai had researched. I always thought that Reito was the evil dude once again but it was his brother Rei.

There are other little "petty" things I like about the series or it's characters like Nina for instance. In this series, she has this uncanny ability to know anyone's background information just by merely looking at them. It's even though obscure little things that I love about Destiny.

And yeah...."Natsuki no Ai dosu" indeed LOL!

I sure hope so. The novels becoming so popular that they've got to make it into an anime sometime soon.

Seems that it won't. The official website has something up about a new series called "My-Mao."

It is just "Mao". The "Mai" part has become "Ma" when read as a whole.

I hope not, I really want a second HiME one. Or a whole new story with new characters. I thought My-*MAiD was the temporary title for Otome? BTW doesn't My-[Star] sound like Meister? Not that you actually read the "star" but it's cool how it works. And it's cool how things change for the better.

Actually, I think you were supposed to read the star. My-Star MAiD was My-Otome before it was My-Otome. Although Arika was still there she, Sara, and some other chick were the main characters.

Yeah, I really wasn't expecting Akane to do anything major, either. I guess that had to do with her previous roles in the Mai-series.

I was hoping Midori would be the leader of that group, haha. And it's creepy how I just heard evil Rika telling Akasaka to go back to Tokyo the moment I mentioned Midori.... -shiver- Higurashi no Naku Koro ni....

Really? I always thought the Gakuenchou was extremely fishy and felt a little disappointed at being somewhat right. I still don't quite understand why he did what he did. Actually, I barely remember the drama CDs and all I do remember concerning him are those three dragons; Kokuryuu, Soryuu, and what was the other one? Toryuu is what I'm thinking, but it seems very off.

I actually forgot about Nina. >_>; -smacks self-

Shizuru completely stole the series for me, at least on those drama CDs. She never did in Hime and Otome, so I'm quite surprised.

LOL, yeah they pretty much confirmed Natsuki and Shizuru at the end especially when Shizuru blurted out to everyone that it was Natsuki's love that saved her...during the celebration following the confrontation with the Gakuencho, Natsuki even let's Shizuru feed her cake which was cute.

The real romance comes in the form of SHion and Mayo. Still since the Mai Hime Universe is a shonen title, the intentions are definitely not in romance...just little traces of it.


But at least Mai and Natsuki are good friends...it's just that Mai doesn't hit the scene until later chapters. She does a fine job of unraveling certain info regarding the Gakuencho (Rei Kanzaki)

Okay, off to the Macross forum...need my dose of Sheryl.

Mai Hime Destiny is only a novel.


As for the OVA there are only 3 episodes. There is current discussion on episode 2 of Mai Otome Sifr.
