Well hopefully the two ending themes are completely different in tone and they use the more appropriate one as an ending theme depending on how the episode ends. I wish studio's actually did this, nothing worse than a grim ending and than some happy go lucky j pop song pops up completely breaking the mood.

Hopefully they can do the source material justice with just a split cour airing, obviously I'll have no idea about the source material but most of the time rushed adaptions are pretty obvious.

I don't know why, but just by looking at her, she gives me "silent type character which lacks any personality" kinda feeling. I think I am going to have serious problems with the main female lead of this anime.

Well I certainly won't blame ya for thinking that cause I get the same feeling that she is the "silent type character" but instead I don't really care about that cause damn thats one fine rear!

"Bootilicious" just doesn't do it justice

Well she is voiced by Chihara Minori so that should be your first clue.

Just as most people estimated, it's the equivalent to about 17 Index books. I don't really understand why they only gave the first season 12 episodes, and since it's split cour the second season will probably only receive 12 episodes as well. I mean, there's enough material for several 2-cour seasons...with this, they should only be able to finish one volume per season; volume 1 for season 1, and volume 2 for season 2. Well, I guess in theory they could put volumes 1-2 in season 1, but that would be the equivalent of stuffing nearly 13 novels worth of content into 12 episodes. Of course, I'm not sure how much of the books are comprised of fights or architectural descriptions that can be shown in anime form in less than a minute, so it could balance out. Given volume 3's massive size and the fact volume 4 hasn't been released yet though, they definitely won't be going past it for season 2 though. Oh...okay I can see how they can adapt Horizon in 2 one-cour seasons if a lot of the books are just descriptions.

Oh, I forgot that a "simple" explanation of the setting of the story was posted on 2ch a while back, I'll translate it.

Quote:
Quote:
-The basic setting is Japan, but in the far future it's pretty much a different world.
-Due to a certain reason mankind repeats history from the start (10,000 BC).
-Both world history and Japan's history is recreated at the same time, in Japan.
-The prefectures of Japan and the other countries of the world interact with each other.
-Basically, because of an order stating only students can fight, the only warriors are students.
-The student age limit in Japan is 18, however in certain countries there is no age limit. Therefore, there are also old men who are students.
-The Japanese are controlled by a global organization, which is where the story of rebellion begins.
-60% of the original story is setting explanation lol, and 70% of the novel illustrations are character introductions lol.
-The main character's power was revealed in the latest novel, but the price of using the power is high.
-There are over 30 characters in just the regular battle formation lol.
That was definitely easier to understand, but the setup still seems crazy lol.

I hope this has an actual story instead of being just novel chapter-by-chapter episodics like Index. Don't really want to see another harem male lead meet different characters and "destroying their illusions".

whats wrong with that?, also those are called arcs, and every manga, ligth novel and even most books that have more than one volume have them.
