While this makes good info dump, it can hurt the flow of his writing, which is as highlighted by aohige above.

To sum it up, Mamare is good with world building and he's also good at using tropes and stereotypes to create the effect he wants. His main weakness is the way he tells the story, which I think will be improved on now that he's gone pro and has an editor to work with him =3
Yeah pretty much. Not just info dump, but also seems to kinda wander off into tangent before realizing he needs to come back.

The fundamental "pacing" of writing seems to be amateurish level.
It may be due to his background, starting as an armature writer posting his works on 2ch.
I didn't see any disclosure on his background, but I doubt it's one of formal writing school.

He seems to be ripe with great ideas and conversational narrations, and use those strength to make up for the poorly structured pacing.

There is probably a special way to make food with taste, like getting some ingredients or maxing out a subclass.

First chapter of the manga was scanlated. Coincidentally, it picks up exactly where the recent episode left off. It looks like only processed foods tastes like crap. Raw food like fruit still have taste.

Heh, I did? This is actually something that has a literally game-changing effect in the story (pretty much equivalent to Big Sis Maid's declaration of human rights in MaoYuu) so I did my best not to mention anything about it

To add on to what kuroishinigami has mentioned:
Spoiler for Just on food:

Don't worry. The importance of cooking and its role as the cause of mass conflict was already stated by aohige, but thanks for the additional info

I didn't really want to get into details of food until anime episode reach 6~11 area.
It's the first significant climax of the series, and really sets the tone of what it's going to be like.

Does the novel expend on the death/respawn process ?

- do players feel pain when they died ?
- is there a stat loss or xp penalty ?
- do players drop item on death ?
- can the healers class cast rez/combat rez spell ?

Yes, 2nd novel.
In anime it should be right around episode 5.

Its importance however, is revealed from episode 6-10 or so

Yes, the players can feel pain. However, the amount of pain you feel is drastically reduced.
There's EXP penalty, no stat loss. However, there's a more important loss......
Spoiler:

Yes, non-bound items (soul-bound items are called "locked" items in ET) and money can get looted
Not sure about in-combat rez, but you can cast rez out of combat. This is crucial while raiding of course.
(That's why the bodies disappearing instantly is a bad change in the anime...)

- they feel pain from attacks so they will feel the pain when dying but the feel of death?.... I don't know
- when one die they receive xp penalty and lost item and gold
- healers can heal in the middle of combat. There is even a spell where there are pre-cast spell so while in he middle of the battle, it will automatically cast when one reach critical level or red zone.

Edit: is rez heal spell or resurrection spell?

No, by "rez" he means resurrection from death. It's an MMO term.

Ouch that's a harsh consequence to death !.

Could a player lose level by dying ?

Haha sorry I haven't played in international game that needed me for ressurrection. I usually play solo in the game and in party we usually the offensive type. I play in our local or country server which is not English but Tagalog.

If someone shout or type "pa resu" someone needs resurrection.

I love how MMO-savvy this is.
Anyone who has ever seriously raided has had times when they range-rez bodies out of the boss aggro field.

As for death penalty, no, you cannot lose level from dying.
However, exp death penalties do go past your level.
Meaning, you could actually end up with a lvl90 character with 0 exp if you died thousands of times.
For someone like that to levle to 91, he'd have to get enough exp points for 1-91. OUCH.
