Bleach 176-177 Episode Discussion Thread

Oooo.. A double episodes' featuring this week. I take the agony will be twice as much? Just kidding. In fact, the episode title for 177 reads very interesting. I've a feeling the anime-original writers are about to make a very strong enemy (aka the crazed Rukia-fans) as soon as this double episdoes come to an end. Then again, I'm probably misinterpreting the intended meaning behind the words, "the reversal of Rukia."

Have a merry discussion! Oh, and good evening fellow Bleach-fans.

Absolutely no manga spoilers in any anime-only threads such as the weekly Episode Discussion threads. That means, no hints, or vague remarks about a future event from the manga, even within the spoiler tags. Inability to observe this rule will result in a BAN!

Yeah...pretty sure they're implying a reversal of fortune in battle there.

Bleach is so anti-relationship at the moment it's not even funny.

I hope this special will have some well animated fights, since every other aspect of this arc fails.

Anyway, TV-tokyo's scheduling doesn't make any sense. Bleach is about 30 chapters behind the manga but it never gets breaks, and now they are even airing double episodes. On the other hand Naruto, who is 100 chapters behind the manga, gets a break every 2 episodes.

I'm going to vote no... Don't think we'll see the end of this arc till closer to the end of August.

This ep made my little fan heart go wild for Rukia. What a little spitfire

I by-passed the Chad and Ishida fights... not because they were bad or anything. I just could care less for their characters in this arc.

Next week should be interesting.

The double episodes aren't affecting the manga or how close the anime is at catching up because the anime is doing its own original storytelling that has nothing to do with the manga counterpart. Usually anime-original arcs are done in the anime adaptation to get separation from the manga.

Naruto series, on the other hand, indeed doesn't make sense. Actually it does make sense if one takes into account the financial gain the show is bringing in. The fans of the show may not be getting what they want, but the producers sure are.

All the good reviews make me want to watch the episdoe.

You know, if they start airing double episodes the filler arc will be over sooner, and that means we will get back to canon sooner and in the end catch up with the manga sooner. Unless they start taking breaks along airing double episodes.

this one is kinda boring, the way the fights ended was cool though, but we see Ichigo for only about 3min at max the preview looks nice, they actually got permission to use Ichigo's past for this filler arc

Not quite! If one filler arc ends then another one can be started. The reason's being that there are about 10^n times of anime-original writers out there who can "write" a story. On the other hand, there is only one Kubo. The animation production team always has the choice whether to use the manga-script or anime-original at their discretion... and that means they can drag the show with anime-original as long as they want. Remember Naruto?

Fortunately for us viewers, Bleach isn't as popular as Naruto from financial perspective.
