I really don't understand Hato at all... He likes BL and isn't gay? Does not compute. I.... what... huh???

Anyway, as for Genshiken as a whole... it isn't wreaked. Hell, the "limited" run is now a full blown regular serialization. Genshiken has always been COMEDY > DRAMA... and that comedy reflects the CURRENT otaku trends. If you can't see the comedy and appeal, you are behind the times.

I giggled at the Kuragehime cosplay this time, especially since the girl's in Kuragehime are also manga assistants, it seemed like a meta reference to me.

I actually don't mind it coming back as a full blown series but some of the humor is a bit off.

And I still think the idea of Madarame needing to be paired up with a girl to get a happy ending or whatever is incredibly lame, but I'll take him and Angela over him switching teams for Hato any day.

Didn't see the MadAng to happen but I like it, she would indeed fall into "real beauty" I was hoping for before.
I did think about it for abit before but then it drifted away into the clouds at some point. Odd that it never stuck with me.

While it's hard to say whether this route would be pursued in length, I'm hoping it does.

Spotted Flower is pretty much the Madarame/Saki wish-fulfillment AU manga. Of course, the author tried to not make it too obvious by giving Saki 2.0 a different design...

I once just recently learned of Spotted Flower's existence, and seeing as Madarame/Saki's the best part of Genshiken in general, I suppose I should check it out soon.

About Genshiken 65:
I prefer a Madarame x Angela pairing, mainly coz i feel that Hato x Madarame it's not convincing, there's a possibility that Angela can be used as a catalyst though...

Not convincing is an understatement. The fact remains that whatever Hato's ambiguities churn out as, Madarame isn't gay. If he even had the slightest inclination in that direction, he would have let it all hang out, so to speak, by now. God knows he's had no shame in the past about other Otaku elements. If he had something hardcore for BL/traps/whatever, it's hard to imagine we wouldn't have seen a hint of it already.

Personally, I don't get the whole idea of traps anyway. Especially the trend lately of guys who claim that traps are the end all but hasten to add that while they would have a relationship with a trap in an instant, they aren't gay. That just blows my mind. It reminds me of those people deluding themselves 'on the down low'.
