Besides, Hayate already has enough of a nympho/molester reputation in the image thread, I'm looking forward to some more cute hayate fanservice.

On the subject of the Aces: I do agree that Nanoha was made to apear very overpowered. All was well untill the manga chapter that showed her going head-to-head with Signum, which threw balance out the window. T_T In my eyes, melee is still Nanoha's main weaknes (after all, do we ever see her actively engaging in melee combat throughout all 3 seasons? I can remember none.) thus, I'm treating that 'flashback image' as an exagerated fantasy that surfaced in chapter 10 as only one image out of the fight, and not (unlike how I preciously stated) as a confirmation that Nanoha can keep up with Signum in melee.

Fate's main weakness seems to be defense. We hardly ever see her tanking full blows, and if she does its mostly back support.

It started out as an ambitious idea of Kha to rewrite the enitre StrikerS story into something that could be concidered a good season, rather then a good season, but filled with a lot of plotholes/scripterrors etc. etc. Somewhere along the line though... it seems it turned into one giant crackfest.

In hindsight, we should never have let him rebuild the characters, just the plot.

  My take on Hayate's reason for self-improvement (personal combat-wise) is simple. As you have pointed out, if Hayate falls, her pack falls with her. Now if the opposition thinks the same way, that would put Hayate in a very hot spot as every gun, sword and staff would be pointed at her direction. She will need to defend herself from assassins, and imho depending solely on bodyguards is not a good idea. Who can guarantee that the people who are supposed to protect you are in fact the very ones who are after your life? Julius Caesar learnt that lesson the painful way and paid its due with his life. This, I believe, is enough reason to make Hayate train hard in self-defense at least. Her knights will not be around her 24/7 and assassins won't drop their cards before visiting (well, not most of them).

What I was saying before is that you only need a good reason for Hayate to want to develop her combat skills further. Also, what I am trying to get through is that Hayate does not exactly need to improve her combat skills for her to "become better". There are various other ways for her to become better, such as becoming a better commander, improving her leadership skills, her strategies and tactics, etc. A good leader can win any battles without interfering.

but like I said, I'm including both personal and professional rationales for her to be. And like I said, not combat capability per se, but survivability.

However, that does not mean that she can just disregard her own combat skills, since every leader should be able to step forward and aid her troops at any time, and that is one thing that Hayate has done in canon, which is very good.

Another good point was brought up by Estavali. Hayate, or any leader, must know how to defend themselves, even if just until reinforcements arrive. I personally do not believe that the current Hayate is "helpless" as some say. She may not be good in actual non-magical melee combat, but she can surely use her magic to stay safe (at least for a moment, if against a very skilled assassin).

I think so too. But for what's about to happen in GenerationS, that alone is not enough. I just need to add just a little bit more. Nothing ruining balance, of course.

On the other hand, you just gave me a GREAT correctional idea for my scenario! Thank you!

In any case, I have never doubted your intentions, I was just trying to give you a few ideas - though clearly that was not needed.

Also, with my reworked characters I have already thought of some scenarios to give CCs some character development too. Unfortunately, though, I have to stick to canon, so I cannot give them too much development. For now, Fate and Hayate are the two whom I will be working with a little.

Anyway, I hope that clears things up.

Long replies are long. Like I said before, none of us mind the changes you are planning, Aaron. I personally think that the command position has left her little time to develop her prowess as a mage, much less in melee. This justification is actually rather solid (considering what 7arcs usually comes up with. ).

But there is also no problem in saying that she has learned to arrange time to do so anyway after the events in StrikerS. In this case, it is also not a problem in using the events in StrikerS itself to justify her need to train herself.

In my chapter's case. It's a bit of a mix of both. It's still predominantly cute, but also infused with some CRACK and a bit of suggestiveness!

There is just room for developments such as how to become a mother and crap ... at 19 years old ... Not saying that those developments are automatically crap, just that a 19 year old girl should be doing other stuff.

They're arranged sorta chronologically. All the Operations Shorts are latest on top chronologically (Well, except for Sorairo days, but how i arranged it felt natural to me...) The Prelude to Alpha shorts are in reverse chronological order, latest first, earliest on bottom.

Very good point there. And I 100% agree with your logic - the enemies will want to take her down at all costs, and bodyguards are not to be relied on.

I do believe Hayate can already magically defend herself, even from melee attackers, though. What she is not good at is actual non-magical melee combat, reason why she said even Caro could beat her (and Caro was showing her big fist in the background, lol). And even that was a joke.

This was the whole point of the planned Franz shooting Hayate scene in Joint Training; he was to have shot her with training rounds to prove to her that an assassin could kill her very quickly with the right tools. It's since been removed.

Raining Hawks: A wide-area attack where arrows are shot upward, split, and rain down in a small area. Incredibly taxing but destructive as the arrows explode on contact but they are unguided.

Rare Skill, "Dragon's Heart": No.47 has, in simple terms, superhuman regenerative powers. Inflicting any serious physical harm is near impossible as wounds heal in seconds after infliction; she can even regrow severed limbs in little as one minute. Her internal organs can also regenerate. However she cannot regenerate if she is decapitated or suffers severe head trauma. She also cannot heal magical injuries.
Genetic trait, "Limited Scale Growth": Has limited control of her dragon scales. Her tail is always covered along with a small area around the area it is attached. No.47 can only grow scales from her bust to groin and not beyond 10% of that area.

All is WIP of course.

I found myself in the when I read the Gift's description. I don't know, but either you have to tweak it a bit or someone will cry out "HAXX", but anyway looking forward for her full profile.

Also, why No. 47 covers only her BUST?

As for No. 47...I'm no haxxbuster, but I think that's a bit overpowered. Severed limbs and internal organs? Aside from a decapitation, you've got someone completely immune to physical damage. The scale growth bit looks passable, though.

Regarding Malon, you could probably up her ranking up to B at the very least. Scattering Sparrow and Raining Hawks, from their descriptions show that she has a good grasp on her skills

That skill(Gift 2) seems to be very. very powerful / bordering on the haxx department. It really does depend on the user though.. Can't really say much more without more info.

I don't know, but anything "regenerative" demands a bit more of attention, since it can (for the most of time) determine the outcome of a battle. Well, that's my POV on her.

Dragon loli? But the profile says her age is 16. Maybe it's not the physical age that counts.
