This adaptation is officially awesome in my books. I loved this chapter in the manga, and the anime did such a good job with it. With the addition of music, voice acting and great color worked. I laughed hard when reading the manga, though i laughed so much more at this episode. Great job, and i hope they keep it up. Also i'm glad that the adaptation is keeping in these episodes, and not just adapting conquests. Keep it up, please.
I still think the game could easily be made by Minori, with the strong Ef: A Fairy Tale of the Two vibes. Plus the Tenmon sounding piece at the start helps. Kanon's up next. Can't wait.

Hmm, I have to disagree. I still don't really like the directorial choices for this show, and this episode which seemed to give them more freedom just emphasized that. The pacing was all weird, and while I can appreciate the imagine spots the whole thing just felt drawn out to fill a whole episode, when it could've been covered in half. Also some of what Elsee says makes less sense this early in the series (why should she respect his abilities or talk about how seriously he takes captures when he's only done two so far?). It's a funny concept, as well as a bit heartwarming in a crazy way, but there's just a limit to how long you can delay a punchline and still have it be funny.
So... I rather dislike this episode. Hopefully next week it returns to form. |

hmmmm...to the commoners up there who's commenting bad about this episode!
The purpose of this episode is to create a mood! can you handle a eternal loop with just a half-half hour? if you squeeze those it won't be epic as it turned out! Anyways Kanon's up next that would probably pick you guys up again! BTW Keima hasn't shown his God-mode! PS: A God must not abandon any heroine! EDIT: They miss the "More than a God and Less than a Human!" They'll probably make that the last episode! episode 13 probably? cuz probably at that time Keima's worn out cuz of the 4 girls and want to play games! And Epic as it is! Keima's probably gonna sing the ending theme of the series! "I'll meet you at that meeting place This wonderful world's invincible me"! I can see the ending!

Why? I mean it shows they're not just going to rush the adaptation by adapting conquest after conquest. For once we're seeing a decent adaptation where more then just the plot episodes are covered. This 'slice of life' episodes are some of my favorite parts of the manga, so i hope they keep it up.

TWGOK's actual plot takes a very long time to get going, and burning an entire episode on a relatively short chapter does not help. |

I don't see how this is wasting an episode. The contents of episode four help structure the type of character Keima is.
& i know there's only 13 episodes for this first season, so? Doesn't mean they should just burn through the plot material and ignore everything else. I don't see any point in that at all.

Well, in the manga the chapters like this are absolutely funny and essential for Keima's characterization. I think that this chapter could be adapted in half episode (the original anime parts, like the song, were a bit boring to me), but overall I loved the episode and I don't see it like a negative sign for the destiny of this adaptation.

Single-cour series are very different from series that are broadcast in two successive cours. You generally have to rush through the source material quicker in order to approach a satisfying ending, and you cannot waste episodes entirely on chapters that don't advance the plot any. Besides, again, this chapter was much shorter in the manga. Hell, they could have adapted the next girl's first chapter in that time. |
