There was no information if THH will have SDR2 at all. So unless NISA confirm otherwise, it only contains DR1.

Here goes an article with the Editor in charge the english localization of Danganronpa.

As expected, they have split the game into 2 because they most likely want to gauge how well the sales will be for the first game.
Dual audio is also confirmed officially (not like there was any doubt about that, but just in case).

That said, even if they claim they didn't soften up the script whatsoever, I'm still wary considering NISA trackrecord when it comes to localization in general... in fact, their nasty habit isn't censorship but going overboard with some localization (Neptune series got a major truck hit about that).

I'm actually quite saddened by the fact that NISA got it. I mean, I've never sene a game translated by them that DIDN'T add unnecessary things.

That's worrying. What sorts of things has NISA done before when it's gone overboard with localisation?

NISA likes adding dialogue that isn't actually there.

Can't be worse than the anime.

....Yes it can. TRUST ME, it can.

Speaking of which, has anyone theorized why on earth they went with "Trigger Happy Havoc"? I mean, just because you shoot ammo? Who thought up that name?

Comedy doesn't really justify butchering. I mean what are we? Morons who won't understand comedy unless it's rubbed into our face?

Hm.. I guess a little optimism wouldn't hurt. Still I'm kind of afraid they'll add more dialogue because they're afraid we'll lose interest if they stop talking.

Well, you see, I am spoiled by the fact that I've watched so much anime that I know some bits and pieces of the Japanese language. Enough to know when the translation is off.

Yes, maybe I am biased, but it's very jarring when what you're hearing isn't adding up with what you're reading. That doesn't mean you can't like it though.

Mind you, my problem usually isn't with the voice acting itself.

Spoiler for ep13/end game:

In all seriousness, even if they added dialogue, the only time you might hear a difference is during the trials (and having the Japanese track on). And the trials are so blahblahblah that I don't really see the need for them to add dialogue.

Finally got my copy, I will try rushing through DR1 for school mode.
Thus far, the game looks great with the vita: the resolution upgrade is definitely noticeable as everything looks neat and crisp.

That being said, I'm a bit disappointed they barely touched DR1 as far as I read the trial and prologue. Re-action talk is still present in DR1, and the trial, albeit obviously not being a second scenario, wasn't even completed just for the sake of presenting a "different" case.

Alright, I've finished DR1 thus far.

The differences I've noted thus far:

-As stated before, graphics are much more crisp, and it is notable during the trials considering the character sprites and all.

Samples:

That being said, they didn't make any better videos at all. Because of this, executions and other videos (like Monokuma slot machine for the vote results) are a bit blurry on the Vita.

-A star is displayed next to a character name in the profile list to indicate you have maximazed their affection. Quite handy for those who didn't try the PSP version yet.

-Loading are fast. I believe that they are even faster than on the PSP (I'm using a physical copy of DR 1-2, can't say if it is even faster with the digital copy of it).

-Touch controls are fine, although it is a bit unnatural to use them in trials because you fire an evidence bullet by default so using the suppressor with the O button then going back with the touch screen to fire off the evidence is annoying.
Likewise, using concentration by pressing R will impair your ability to hit accurately something, unless you use your left hand.

That said, touch screen makes investigation much less of an hassle.

-I didn't notice any difficulty change in イジワル difficulty.

-Nitpicks of mine:
*they didn't include a "replay voice" feature for the backlog.
*The game over sequences weren't changed at all: except obviously for chapter 6, Makoto is considered the suspect, then "everyone except the culprit get executed".
*The trial version extra is really just the demo being included: they didn't expand the trial at all. Basically, we are left with the speculation that Hifumi did it, without really any additional info of why nor how.

Going to play a bit school mode for a while.

Weird that they didn't make the executions higher quality.. I wouldn't imagine that would be a huge issue for them, but oh well.

Really curious about school mode for Togami, since he seems to be the only one no one's talking about anywhere. Also curious how it goes with Mukuro.
