Buddy Complex
So yeah, I don't know if you guys know but there's a Buddy Complex manga serialized I think on Dengeki Maou, and it features a WHOLE DIFFERENT set of characters. You know the ones in that mobile game that potentially features more female pilots Sunrise decided not to use.
You can actually read it off here legally if you can understand Japanese: http://buddy-complex.jp/comics/comic_tameshi02.html From the looks of it, it seems the main MC's future partner (besides that busty blonde one that looks she's form Love Live) will be a female pilot with a mole on her left boob.

It's really annoying considering chances of most of those "side materials" being brought over to the States are slim so you're missing a chunk of the franchise. It's still baffling how Sunrise decides which plot synopsis goes to which medium.
Let's see how this manga holds up. Maybe it'll be better than the anime? That mobile game is still an enigma though.

the anime isnt too bad, just not a whole lot happened. I havent really liked much of what sunrise has been out in recent years. Like one i really liked was Code Geass S1.
I might give this manga a shot if it ever gets translated, coupling with a chick might be a tad better than coupling with a male tsundere

I think there are 2 different manga adaptations. One is based on the mobile game and the other is based on the original anime. The story for both is by Yatate Hajime. They have different artists though.
These are done by Ohara Hiroki who illustrates the BC manga: |
