well there are few possibilities...

so we can ask ourselfs why is he so much crying while looking at that sohara doll ? something horrible had to happen that made him get this trauma.... if sohara was alright then why would he make that doll look like sohara

for reader it might look like he did that so she would "allways" remind him of her... as she might have died..... cant get it what tomoki there is saying... but it might be "will she come back" or something like that.... that alone coused tomoki (big) get a strong sharp pain in head as she was suppressing a horrible memory of what happened

so it might be that sohara died...tomoki feels that pain so he made soharas most precious toy look exacly like sohara so she would allways be with him... the same he put it into his tressure box

other options are that sohara got sick and was in hospital for a long time... so tomoki was scared that she would die and leave him so he took her doll and make her look like sohara... then hid it while sohara throught she lost that doll

translation might show more explanation to this

other options are that sohara went to hospital in critical state of health...tomoki made that doll look like sohara knowing that she might die....sohara died in hospital... synapse system errased soharas existance from peoples memories (tomokis too)....sohara at synapse was put to sleep pod and she returned to her life as "sohara" so she could stay by tomokis side.... now tomoki saw that past and while trying to remember that doll he felt sharp pain.... like the synapse system preventing him from remembering it

kinda like what nymph said... that tomoki must not know about this town and peoples in it.... knowing that most of those humans are no real and just a sleeping angerl at synapse (like hiori)..... so that might include sohara

The manga is the source material so if the manga depicted Hiyori as dead she'll probably be killed off in the anime as well, should later seasons reach the same point.

The anime contradicts a lot of things that the manga has done, most notably with Chaos. Expect season 3 to do a ton of retconning if they want to get back on track.

zibi88 Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008	Spoiler for about 68: hmmm im confused about that "doll" thing and why tomoki is crying the moment he sees it... not mention he feels a sharp pain in head like something traumatic happened...and he might have his memories removed or it was such shock that he locked them in and the pain is a proof of it... but im worried that the "doll" is tied to "sohara" like look how damn similar that doll is to sohara !! similar face, hair-style and even the same ribbon on hair maybe sohara and lots of people down are like leaving dolls...kinda they take shapes on earth surface and take the dolls looks as their own.... like the reason sohara sticks with tomoki is becouse tomoki wished for someone to stay close to him so he wouldnt feel lonely... so maybe that doll made that wish and sohara appeared.... hard to tell... but its something important well it might be that sohara is either a made up existance based on that doll (and its a reason why tomoki feels so much pain by looking at it)... or a synapse citizen so her earth looks is all fake like hioris still its a possibility that this doll belonged to Deidalos who too lived on earth surface and had very strong bond with tomoki... later she disapperaed and he started to see her in her dreams why crying...but unable to remember
