I've come to accept a long time ago that when it comes to Anime and highschool settings in general, a lot of the "drama" is just people being too damn serious over the smallest issues.

This series just took it to the NEXT dimension lol.

Jmac and I brought it up after the latest episode... it's just that those posts are now buried under several pages of Chisato discussion and general shipping discussion.

Yeah, this is one seriously effed up school.

Even by anime standards, it seems a bit eyebrow raising to me.

But ah well, it mostly adds to the comedy value for me, lol.

Wow... I thought I wouldn't say this but Koichoco is actually quite solid now. This latest episode was really awesome. I'm really loving the politics/election aspect of this show and I can't recall another slice of life series that took it this seriously and explored it in this much detail.

On the other end of the spectrum though, Chisato is one crazy mofo. She reminds me of that crazy wheelchair girl that deliberately from the stairs from Black Rock Shooter. Wtf gal... take a chill pill (or alternative, a trip to the "white complex" with the men in white coats). Can't argue that the emotional impact wasn't there, but I also can't argue that I really dislike her despite knowing what the purpose of that scene was.

And we finally got to find out what the meaning of the very beginning of Koichoco episode 1 regarding that person who got run over by a car. Koichoco politics is serious business. Keep it up Koichoco, the last 3 or so episodes, you've been on a total roll and you've probably overtaken Kokoro Connect (which has been pretty mediocre lately) on the enjoyability factor for me.

So many twists happened in this episode (I know that last week Michiru was a spy working for Yakumo) : first there's a Oosawa incident revelation, then Chisato explains her chocolate hatred to Mifuyu and lastly, Michiru saves Kana while disguised as a nurse to defeat school opponents and perform a harmonica to heal her. In other words, Chisato always dreamed about becoming Yuuki's bride, and there's a brief election shot. Suddenly, Chisato gets kidnapped while trying to kiss Yuki. Will look forward to the last time seeing the show next week with its final episode.

Spoiler for KoiChoco 11 - The Call That Unlocks the Future:

The first half of the episode continued that drama-heavy thing that can be interesting to watch, but I remain of few words on. The moment Yuuki made that phone call to Michiru, Kana played her harmonica once again and the insert song kicked into high gear, that's when the show turned everything around. It was uplifting to watch, seeing the election go off without any relative hitches, the Food Club's happy days continuing, and being even happier given that Chisato's starting to work though her issues. The bookend with the second episode was pretty well done, too. Though these sorts of things can never last for long. It's just that you don't expect them to be cut short by tasers.

Now with that ending my interest in this series droped by 95% just gonna finish it to see how it ends. And well... I guess unfortunately with this kind of VN adapatations I need to first start watching it with the mentality "Let's see how the best girl will lose to just make me want to play the game" If I had thought like that since the beginning (and with other series as well, I'm looking at you Mashiro-iro u.u) I think I could've enjoyed this series more >_>

You know, 5 episodes ago, I didn't realize how bad this anime was gonna get. 5 episodes later, this episode, I realized just how absolutely terrible it is.
Terrible.
If I gave this episode a score, I'd give it less than 0. It's just that bad.
Harmonica saves the brain dead girl.
And that "beautiful" insert song to cover up the ridiculousness that just happened.
The whole drama between Mifuyu and Chisato first of all didn't really make much sense. There was this scar thing, but hey, NO EXPLANATION. And not only that, it actually wasn't that big of a problem from the outside.
Don't forget Chisato running faster than light to catch up with the elevator.

The drama in this episode from start to finish was just a big mess. Too fast too.
Too fast and not making sense.

And you know what, on top of this mess, the clock in Chisato's room said 07:21.
Like the staff knew that the audience needed an honest laugh in between laughing at the idiotic scenario.

Well, in truth, as I've said all along (and has become increasingly clear in recent weeks), this "super route" isn't really similar to any route in the game (though it contains elements from all of them). No matter what route you play in the game, you'll get a different experience. So in a way that's a good thing (the anime complements the game, rather than being a direct copy of it), but as a result you don't really get quite as developed a story for any given heroine. This isn't my favourite approach for an eroge adaptation, but I understand why they did it this way -- it really focuses primarily on the dramatic plot, and the romance is just one aspect of the story (and in some ways a more minor one). In the game, the romance/relationship is more front and center, and the other elements take shape around that, but that would only work in the anime if they committed to one route much earlier. Here they delayed it as long as possible so they could squeeze in as many other plot points as possible. As a result, it almost feels a bit more like he fell into a romance, but that makes sense given the foreshadowing early in the show and the fact that it was basically being setup as a foregone conclusion (that Yuuki just had to realize after Chisato got over her trauma). They basically tried as much as possible to ensure all the original PC game heroines had their turn in the spotlight with as even a treatment as they could, and that could only happen given the specific combination of elements they chose.

It really was THAT bad and the problem wasn't just the pacing.
"True Friendship bringing people out of comas since..." <-- Triple_R must have had a good laugh at that.
And that end....seriously a fucking taser and using that crappy kidnapping/blackmailing tactic as part of the "political" aspect of the series? The plot had potential but they have screwed it up too badly to fix it at this stage.

I'm so unhappy I rescinded my preorders. I was about to get it and I wasn't too happy with what I saw.

While the turn of events aren't surprising per se, what I don't understand is why the animation direction would *reduce* Yuuki and Chisato being around each other. Ex: when Yuuki meets other girls, Chisato is there. Or more morning antics, or even club antics.

The even character distribution was interesting, but at the same time, it hinders the strength of going the Chisato route when the anime *does not show* Yuuki and Chisato hanging out all that much. If anything, they showed how he's been doing a ton of things without Chisato around.

Then there's a lot of Chisato specific scenes that weren't used, which while they weren't major, would complement it better. She's supposed to be an omnipotent girl with few weaknesses. Or perhaps strong, assertive, and aggressive.

I guess another way to look at it was that the show was all about Yuuki. Well, sort of, not really. But he sure went proactive.

Proactive solution in Michiru's route component? All Yuuki.
Proactive solution in Isara's route component? Actually wait that's not fully resolved. Yuuki clearly goes for it though.
Proactive solution in Satsuki's route component? All Yuuki.

Sure in the overall spectrum it makes sense but in a 1 cour shown at the speed it was at, it wasn't executed convincingly. If the election, which took most of the series up anyways, was that critical, I would say integrating the 3 way debate would have been better. Because viewers only saw his speech on stopping club reforms. The only other thing he had was wanting to solve the bullying problem, but we don't even know how that was integrated.

Now granted we can assume Mifuyu is really good at writing speeches or that Mouri gave sufficient training on presentation and strategy, but ergh.

I just felt the way the anime showed it, Chisato was doing significantly better as a supporter, a teammate, an everyday friend. Not as a primary heroine. This is probably one of the only few recent VNs that has a synopsis in this fashion. A rare case where picking her as the primary isn't exactly desirable.

Game notation, don't read.

its one of those generic default ending that you get when you do random stuff that doesnt seem to lead to a certain route.
im expected this kind of ending to happen already unless the anime has one of those ending like Mashiro-Iro Symphony where you didnt expect mc to end up with someone else. well there only 1 or 2 more episode left and i dont think the mc will end up with someone else
