we will honestly have to see what will happen with eiji next week, though tbh the series could have ended right then and there if yuki decided to give in. rina gets touya, yuki gets eiji and everyone is happy, and the other people get cut off lol.

in any case he called the police right after yuki ran away from him, i think that strongly signifies he's done. up to that point all he had left was yuki and remember how he said he wanted to prevent any 'damage' to yuki or something along those lines, well guess what, he just put a huge dent in her heart.

Well, that's too bad for Yayoi then. I was hoping they would reveal the truth behind her mindset and her past and why she was sticking with Touya despite not having any further "official" reason to.

I guess part of what I said earlier of this series being a 13 hour marketing campaign for the PS3 game is true then. If someone like me wanted to find the truth behind Yayoi's story, I'd have no recourse but to learn Japanese, buy a PS3 and then buy the White Album game. Anime series are made to make money, after all.

Ugh. BIG BOO for this series, pretending to have something deep in its story and yet all we get is that Touya is a scary woman-hunting-freakazoid and all the women are whacked in the head. And most of the guys either die literally or figuratively or get demoralized again and again. And we still don't see the reasoning or the payoff behind it.

Great atmosphere, great production no doubt, but I'm not really feeling the 'it' factor of the story at this point.

Full Moon o Sagashite is like a giant compared to this midget.

By the way, a random production note: It looks as though Nagoya TV will be broadcasting the final episode at the same time as they broadcast episode 25 as sort of "double feature", and that will be on Thursday morning at 3:24am JST (episode 25 will start at 2:54am). So people who are waiting for the last episode may be able to see it a bit early in some cases (normally the first-airing station is Saturdays at 1:30am JST).

Rina totally got drama-fied. Even though the director has said before that they weren't going to rely on cheap drama trickery to advance the story, and yet we saw a hailstorm worth of them the last 5 episodes..

The cheap drama tricks i've seen haven't advanced the story though. It's been the odd approach the series has that advances the story.

Toyua or whatever his name started out very sympathetic but now his just ..I don't know ..

how is this going to end ,I have no idea .I'm only watching for Rina .It's too bad she lost her voice ...That is not say I hate the characters.Yes,they are very flawed but it makes things much more interesting.This show is very well-written ..why do people say it's bad ?

Interesting post. Personally, I have more sympathy for Touya now than I ever did before. All his tricks have left him empty.

Rina is the least of my own personal interests here -- she is boringly normal, compared to the people around her -- but I agree that the show is well-written, and well storyboarded and directed: not to be a show like other shows, but to be a very unusual show with fascinatingly odd rhythms.

I agree with Shiroth that it is the show's unusual approach that makes it special. The melodrama is so sudden/extreme that I don't exactly take it seriously, and yet it somehow has its effect on me anyway. People who don't like the strangeness have a right to think the show is bad, however.

Rina is too normal to be interesting to me in the bizarre context of this show, but her conversations with Kanzaki are brilliant, the most direct and honest parts of the show. Kanzaki has turned out to be one of my favorite characters now: not that I like her, just that she is so full and real.

I am honestly glad to be as patient to wait for the subs before watching the episode.
Let's see...

Spoiler for ep 25:

The episode starts with Yuki leaving from Touya's. Menou reminds Yuki that she has something to do.
After the OP we get to see Yuki and Touya visiting Rina in the hospital.
As we thought, Rina's voice is gone and she's unable tosing. Though the situation is even more drastical as she can't even speak. Perhaps they lessened the impact by claiming her vocal cords are pracitculary intact, but the psychological shock probably sealed her voice.So there's some hope for her future singing career. Yuki seems extremely pained at Rina's state but she says to not pity her and encourages her to continue the Venus Festival.
They leave and Yuki goes to the bathroom. While Touya's waiting Yayoi explains to him her frustration and disapointment in him. Also her whole reason of doing things the way she did. She says there's no more reason to keep Touya away from Yuki. As he didn't consoled her when she really needed it, no matter what kind of excuse he has also means he doesn't love her anymore. Then yayoi mentions her reason to cheat with him. She has the "curse" which makes people who come to love her somehow dissapear(it probably means that her boyfriends are by some happening always leave her eventually)...a pretty sad karma I have to say. I wish they would've explored it better. She wanted to use this to keep Touya away thus not distract Yuki from the singing. She wonders why it didn't have the effect and Touya says he never loved her. Yayoi counters with saying he never really loved anyone other than Yuki and he agrees. Then some ambigious scene where we wonder if Yayoi really hated him the whole time as she claims or she fallen for him as the others.
Man, and that was only the first few minutes! I take up the pace a bit more to finish this post before midnight.
After that scene we have a quite good lecture from Akira. Touya wants to pay Rina back for the pain he caused, but Akira explains to him that this isn't as easy as he thinks. Touya's self-esteem starts to hit rock-bottom and reveals how terribly he thinks about himself.
Then we have the Rina struggling in the hospital to let out her voice, but now matter how hard she tries she fails. the president of m3 comes and shows her regret and apology for being unable to protect her from such a thing. Also she explains with talking with her she slowly realised many faults in her life and now she wants to start a whole new life. Oh, righ. And as we guessed Eji turned himself in to the police soon after he kissed Yuki.

In the next scene Touya somehow starts to remember his past with Menou. It's been revealed that Menou was the "main villain" or the "mastermind" behind this whole mess

. She planted in Touya his strange belief of women. She took care of him once in the time and told her she'll protect him no matter what, though her form maybe different. With that belief Touya viewed every women as his godess-protector who helps him whenever he needs it. Menou wants some kind of reward for propelling him into such a good road where he had fun with different women, but her mother comes in to settle a few things and so interrupts them. The president also aks Touya to be at Rina's side tomorrow and he does so. Rina asks him why he won't go to the Venus Festival to see Yuki, but Touya after the revelation behind the whole Godess thing starts to be fully overcame with self-hatred and say he can't move anymore.
The episode ends with Yuki beginning her song.

No matter what others say, I think this was a pretty good episode. The signs are still mixed about whom he's going to choose. Also cunningly they thought out a method to keep Rina's chances without much of a romantical development. Also it's quite commentable how Rina kept his composure despite the situation...though to mention the analogy again Sheryl was like that too. Only because of Alto's emotional outbreak she let out her true feelings. A thing which Touya obviously didn't do. I am kind of excited about the next episode. It might turns out to be better than I expected.

Also I can understand the negative reactions of others. Without knowing exactly the conversations the episode seems kind of dull. That's why I am glad to watch this episde with subs.

True. Which is all the reason why I wonder why they resort to the soap opera tropes. A lot of the characters just gets whacked around and there's really nothing to show for it.

Only one more ep to go, and I have no idea what's in store...but one thing's for sure, this is easily my top pick for this season. It's going to take a massively unexpected plot twist to derail this ending, and with the show already being unpredictable as is, anything could happen.

Needless to say, I can't wait

I feel that the end will be rushed or not ...
Cuz , we don't know more about Yayoi's past .
Fat guy ... well you know ...
Is it really finish between Misaki with Akira ?
Haruka ?
Mana ?
Menou and the little girl ?

Well , Touya will stay with Rina then they'll take the opportunity for bing bang or not ->

That whole scene was really good actually. I need to go back and watch the scene again that shown all the Goddess'. As to how this show will end next week, this is White Album, so i'm expecting something i'd never expect in a million years. Spoiler for page 25: So the motivation for Menou's entire plan of throwing her career down the drain was just to be Touya's girlfriend? Guess the old saying is true: love really does make people do crazy things And Touya almost nailed her, then mom butted in and ruined it Well, despite that cockblock, Kanzaki actually redeemed herself quite nicely in this ep. Admitting her faults to Rina, accepting the outcome of this whole mess, and making a bold step towards a new start...and here I thought she would've remained a bitter ice queen till the end. Speaking of ice queens, Yayoi's story was surprisingly wrapped up without any bloodshed (if anyone was going to take this to the Nice Boat level, she was the most likely). Touya even thawed her a little with that hug Another shocker was that Sunohara wasn't the one to bring the lols this time. He was actually....normal, for once Fortunately, the comedy came from an unlikely source: Menou's manager (who got framed for the Rina incident...serves you right for bugging her all the time ). Fatty gets to be a 'hero', and Tamura is left speechless And we also learn that Tamura had his eye on Menou ever since he was a kid...can't blame him for that, any boy would crush hard over a beauty like her Brief montage of Touya's 'goddesses' offered more revelations: - he boned Misaki that time, confirmed - we know he did it with Haruka in bed...but also in the shower? dude got game - he actually idolized the older Sakura Girls singer? and the librarian? - was that Yuki working at McDonald's? and even if it's not, who the heck would idolize a McDonald's worker? (must've been a good toy in that Happy Meal) The scenes with Rina were quite moving, especially when she struggled to sing and tell Kanzaki that she should take the blame, not her. At least we know her condition is temporary, so she should be speaking again soon (if she didn't, that would suck for her seiyuu ). Only one more ep to go, and I have no idea what's in store...but one thing's for sure, this is easily my top pick for this season.
