japan is great at baseball and all, but this is kind of silly. Even if his pitch is flat as the ocean he'd still make some stupid juinor team

I think the deal was that he wasnt playing at a high enough level to get in. Granted he's good, but he wasnt in the majors in either the Japaniese or American leagues so was overlooked.

Spoiler for Episode 111:

Episode 112 starts off with Shimizu residence and kaoru is asking to go over to america to meet a "friend" - taiga spills the beans that the "friend" is her boyfriend to her mum, who says it's ok but to keep it a secret from her dad. She goes over to america and gets lost, Goro finds her and they go back to his house.....but he's got attitude. Koaru cooks him a curry, this time with no full apples included and then asks to stay and he tries to kick her out, talking about how he doesnt want to be kicked out to the minors like everyone else and that he's finally being picked to start the game instead of playing relieveer. Kaoru tries to run away, goro stops her and tells her that he was rude, but it's just he's old fashioned and sharing a room with a girl so soon isnt good, exp as she's so special.

Next day is the match and Kaoru arrives to find the game started and 6-0 up, with goro not on the mound. She then shits herself about goro already being dropped......but then clocks that it's infact goro's team up 6-0 and batting. Goro apparantly through a no-hit no-run 6 innings and was pulled due to it being an exhibition game. He's then told to go to LA, which he assumes is because he's being dropped, but is wrong. When he arrives he finds out that he's been picked for the All-Japan squad, with Kyoshiro and Itao giving him the thumbs up the the manager. Goro doesnt understand, because he's been shown to lack exp...but they all think he's got balls and skill to do it. Toshi is there too, seems to have been training hard since Goro left and got picked.....who gives goro a speach and Goro's up for it.

A friend told me to try watching Major a while back. I am glad I have though because it has made me get interested in baseball. Apart of it being about baseball, it grasp a concept of how one person can affect so many.

I like Major and it'll probably be my favorite baseball anime for years to come.

Episode starts off with everyone back in season 3 finding out Goro's been called up to the National Team and everyone is suprised/happy about it. Toshi and Goro are training hard, and Goro seems to have improved his control of the Gyrofork. Opening ceremony of the Baseball World Cup, USA vs Canada and Joe Gibson is starting pitcher, and is striking everyone out with the croud going wild.....but then he starts to get hit, singles at 1st but then a big hit to outfield results in Canada going 1-0 up. Back in the ditch and Joe Gibson Jnr gives him a pep talk, mentioning Goro which seems to be a catalyst for him and he once again takes the mound to strike out the next batter.

Cut to bottom of the 8th and Canada are 2-0 up, but then USA hit 3 home runs to take the match and Gibson's pitch is shown to be 96 miles/hour. Japaiese team then has a talk about their oponents, and Shimizu seems to get hit on by one of the Venezuela players, Silva (He seems to have a fetish for asian girls), to which Goro steps in and then goes on to meet sanchez from the previous season, but gets laughed at by Silva as they walk away.

Spoiler for Episode 113:

Episode covers Japan's first game against Venezuela, inwhich Japan are batting 1st and Sanchez is the starting pitcher. Japan manage to get an early lead after Sanchez gets afew hits, however an unreal catch by Silva of Toshi's ground ball results in a double play. Silva then rubs salt in the wound and hits for a double, but as the Venezuelian (think thats what u say?) player comes in home, he slides into the japaniese catcher's ankle injuring him, and smirks when he sees he did. Toshi is then called up to replace him......but things dont go to well and Venezuela take a 5-1 lead. Ater afew innings Toshi comes back to bat again and hits Sanchez's pitch, only to be caught out which compounded with his lead taking the team behind. After afew more hits from Venezuela, the manager tells his helper to ring the bullpen for Shigeno, which he does, however the manager finishes his sentence with "Goro" which takes everyone by suprise. Episode ends with Goro heading to the mound, to the suprise of Sanchez and the pleasure of Silva.

Side Note: Koari turns up late to the game, she attended a game for OAPs which i found funny :P

Celsius. Pretty much used everywhere but the States 38 degrees Celsius is right around 100 in Fahrenheit.

because skin is softer under armpit and it's a better place to get body temperature

I think its pretty safe to say baring any cheesy drama shenanigans (sudden illness etc.) pulled later on their pretty much a done deal atm...Still amusing as hell to watch though.

1st they already hooked up 2nd how would it be cheaesy in a show where his mom is dead and his dad died early in the show. he also hurt his leg and hurt his arm in the show. Couldnt throw right handed anymore cuz he got hurt and had to change pitching arm. its all in the flow of the anime.

Goro's out on the field and noone understands the managers choice, much to Goro's displeasure Toshi is still abit messed mentally over the occurances in the previous episode and it leads Venezuela to get a double steal. Goro gives Toshi a lecture, while one of the seniors comes across to vent his displeasure over the doubel steal. Goro gives Toshi a kickstart, and faces Silva in the box. 2 strike outs and Silva figures Goro is fast, but just straight.......then falls for the folk ball, perfectly timed too, and is struck out, croud goes wild. The folk ball sees to have rattled everyone, his dad and fellow coach talk about how he's improved the timing since camp, and sanchez and silva both comment on it. Batter gets struck out with a folk ball and it's Japans tern to bat. 1st pitcher is struck out, and then Goro's tern to bat. I think he's told by his father not to do anything stupid to safe his energy, but the manager says nothing, leaving it up to Goro.

In the box, goro starts acting like he's scared, missing the 1st pitch. The catcher is laughing at him, the pitcher is grinning, and as he beggins to pitch, goro's attitude changes from scared, to confident, calling them stupid he manages to hit the pitch. The ball flies and Silva leaps to catch it, he does manage to grab the ball with the glove but the ball slips out i think from the speed it was moving at which takes him by suprise. Goro manages to get to 1st safely. Mist of the Venezuelan players are abit shocked, i think cause a pitcher is batting? but Toshi laughs it off. Kyo then too gets a hit, with Goro managing to get to 2nd. The 3rd batter is hit but caught....then after he's caught goro makes a dash to 3rd, taking everyone by suprise and gets safe, then Kyo too steals 2nd. Next batter has 4 balls, leaving bases loaded with Itao next, who hits a double, getting Kyo and Goro home. Next batter is walked, and Venezuela change pitchers against Toshi. This new pitcher throws a 98 mile/hour fast ball, which gets a strike against Toshi, then a 2nd. 3rd is hit for a foul, which causes Toshi to have a flash back about Goro, and 4th is thrown for a ball, however the last pitch is hit for a home run, with bases loaded, making the score 8-7 to Japan. Venezuela pitcher is pissed and so too is Silva. Next innings are flashes, with strike outs being thrown by both Goro and the Venezuela pitcher, and it finally ends with show down between Silva and Goro. 1st pitch is hit for a foul, 2nd pitch is a strike out for 99mile/hour.....third pitch, silva waits for the fork, but it never comes ad is struck out. Last batter is struck out and Game is over, Japan wins. Silva then comes to pay his respect to Japaniese baseball, and meeting for team Japan on next oponent, one of the seniors says something which causes alot of ternsion music!!!

111 was loads of fun, but the Goro Shimizu relationship - it's somehow hilarious and tragic at the same time. He's such a complete nitwit when it comes to human interaction, and she doesn't help with her bull-headed singularity of thought. But really - he leaves her a note? Jeez...

Spoiler for Episode 115:

A major talking episode so i couldnt catch most of the conversations from the raw as my Japaniese isnt awesome. Episode focuses around Tendo-sempai, who seems to be a pitcher coming towards the end of his career. Also found it kinda weird how most of the South Korean players were drawn looking very western - You'll have to excuse my extreme steriotyping but from appearance i cannot tell the difference between Korean/Japaniese/Chinese, so found it kinda weird how the Korean players were drawn to look very western compared to the Japainese team.

Episode starts with Goro being named as a closer for the next game against South Korea, He meets up with Kaori who seems pleased from him. Goro goes to the pullpen and sees Tendo pitch and hurt his arm, he seems to be pushing himself really hard with Goro being named as a closer. Goro has a talk with his dad who tells him background story of Tendo, playing in the majors and has a history with the Team's Manager.

In the game, and Toshi is starting as catcher, with Goro and Mayumura watching from the bullpen, with Tendo warming up. After afew innings of nothing, Tendo is called out in a pitching change. He begins well, but Toshi can see something is wrong, then he begins to throw wild pitches. After walking a pitcher, he's finally hit. Manager goes out the the mound and speaks to him, he appologises and goes to give the ball to the manager who questions him, and walks back to the dugout. The next pitch is hit, and in a moment of instict he throws his leg out to stop the ball and is hit. As he goes to throw to 1st, it's too late and the pitcher is safe. He's injured, which means Goro's on the mound. Tendo suddently changes his attitude, and starts cheering Goro on telling him it's all up to him. Goro throws his 1st pitch for a strike, his second is hit behind for a foul. It seems that the player on 2nd is telling the batter the expected throw via signs. The staff seem troubled by Goro being hit, but Manager trusts that Toshi was throwing a dummy. Next Toshi sets up close again, the runner on 2nd again tells the batter its a straight, but then as Goro is pitching Toshi moves his mitt to the outside, the batter is dumbfounded and doesnt even swing, resulting in being struck out. Goro earns the team a win. After the match, Goro and Toshi run into Tendo whose on crutches, I think Toshi's down about being old, but Goro says something and theres a shocked expression on Tendo's face, and an image of Gibson Snr is shown, i think he just says being old isnt bad, just need to train more like Gibson etc etc....

Next episode seems interesting, tho we see Shimizu with a young girl and Japan vs Dominican Republic
