Bah...manga prices in the US range from about $8 to $11. (I'm guessing that would be 8000 to 11000 won.) I'm not really sure why, myself, but I think it has something to do with the companies having to pay translators as well as royalties and also stuff involving the size of the market for manga, etc. I do believe that they tend to be way too expensive, though.

I believe the substance on her face is solely her tears, Discreet. Admittedly, some areas of the substance are slightly weird-looking, but....

I would also prefer seeing moe pictures of crying Kyonko rather than just plain ones of crying Kyonko. (Not sure if that made very much sense, but...in any case, what I meant was that I don't think that picture is moe.)

The IDSE humanoid interfaces are technically three. Aside from them, all first year students are 15-16, all second year students are 16-17(except possibly Asahina) and all third year students are 17-18.

Kyon(ko) is confirmed to be 15 at the beginning of the story. Since we are never given any birthdates, I cannot say when she turns 16.

Judging from side comments in the novels...

Both Kyon and Haruhi (and probably Koizumi) are 15 at the beginning of the series.

Somewhere between April and July, Haruhi turns 16.

Kyon is 16 by March of the next year, as is Koizumi.

Tsuruya assumes Mikuru is 17 in Vol, 2, so her birthday is probably before September. (Though we have no idea of her real age.)

Yuki was created sometime in April/May, and is now 3 years old. Ryoko is the same age.

None of the other character's ages are ever given.

Which, of course, makes it impossible to pinpoint their exact birthdates.

And I do remember Haruhi mentioning that she was older than Kyon, at some point, in an effort to further her superiority.
