Anyway, I think that the 'yes' votes are far more important than the 'no' votes since the people who don't want a Shounen-Ai forum can simply avoid reading it. Of course, I am not convinced that a mere 19 people are sufficent to dedicate a new forum for. Still... the number might increase.

I don't really see much "exciting" conversation to build up to.

Yeah, there's also the fact lots of people don't even know what Shounen-Ai means..

but then again I don't think there is that many who would be intrested in discusing about man to man stuff or whatever.. On the other side It could be intresting. I won't deny I might be posting some stuff (not that I'm gay lol) but you know I think there could be discusions as inviting as other ones so yeah, I think we could try it.. So mine can be considered as a "yes" vote I guess.
And if there's not enough reply here just give JAppi his Sounen-Ai Thread in the "General Chat" or "General Anime" forum.

Shonen-ai is more of just the relationship itself i think. While Yaoi is hardcore porn... but you can't really get hardcore since those darn blotches are in the way most of the time... *stops and looks at everyone staring*... I mean, yaoi. What's that?

I'm totally for it ... if you post any pics or stuff about shonen-ai, or stuff revolving around shonen ai you get flamed, and it might offend other users...

With a shonen-ai board there would be a board where pics , fanfics, fanart and stuff like that could be shared without the fear of being flamed at for posting impropriate, or offending stuff... ( i know alot of guys are offended by shonen-ai ) ...

So yeah, i give it my full support! ^_^

I'm sure she'd be interested in joining asuki for a shounen-ai forum.

Like biohazard said, we could post fanfic & fanart, and talk about specific characters that we like or particular shows with shounen-ai theme, such as Gravitation (or Get Backers?). I think it could be playfully fun in a decent way

I also want to give my support in this. I think that it could be a well used forum, where people can express their views on things. The fanart idea sounds nice and I always enjoy looking for it. Of course I am a shounen-ai fan. I would definitely participate in those topics.

I'm heterosexual and I don't think it's nasty - if you don't like it, then just don't be part of it! You don't have to say anything that's offensive to other fans... -> this is the part of the idea that concerns me. It would be very annoying if people like this came around every so often just to make untasteful jokes about the topic

Thats true, but even with all the homophobic assholes a shounen-ai forum is still worth it. I support the idea but to keep things straight (no pun intended

) there should be a shoujo-ai forum too.

Actually, if the forum was created we'd probably have to give it a name that encompasses both shoujo-ai and shounen-ai.

As an amusing aside which is slightly related to that topic... until recently there actually wasn't a name in Japan for the genre that we call "Shoujo-Ai". Just recently they have started to call the genre "Girl Love". If you don't find that amusing, then you don't know the translation of Shoujo-Ai. The coincidence is strange and ironic, isn't it?

Shonen- ai forum woo hoo!!!!!! my vote is a yes... although i feel the same as everyone on the issue of whether or not there'd be enough support to carry on the forum..... But I feel that there should be one to allow for all threads created and all pics and fan arts posted....... and if anyone throws any tasteless insults and jokes then the moderator can just delete them isn't it? Then at least this forum would be a better place for everyone....

I feel that there's just too much unfair flaming and ranting from ppl who are fully heterosexual and would want nothing to do with shonen-ai fans..... so this forum would at least be a way for us fans to talk about the animes and art as usual with much less ranting... isn't that the objective? to reduce the flames?

I'd dearly love to talk about all the girly looking guy anime chars that i have crushes on... but the last time i tried someone just told me to get a real life hunk and that was mean.... (as if i don't have one in real life)... but i just want a place where i can talk about these chars and ppl respond appropriately... that's why i feel this forum is important....the same goes for shoujo-ai.....

Yea, I was thinking they could make strict rules about conduct in the forum, and enforce these rules to prevent distasteful jokes and offensive behavior.
