Time to hit the proving ground in a manner of speaking. I'm not looking for another Linda Linda Linda tribute akin to God Knows like many others so much as I am looking for K-On to perhaps make something of itself as a music anime via the concert sequence that it can then call it's own......or at least for the girls to prove they have the heart to give it 110%. "Don't say lazy" right? That's the motto of the anime. Now it's time to put it to the test. If everything goes well then the total failure to show the steady improvement of the girls up until this point in any sort of fashion (let alone logical) could be somewhat forgiven.

Going to be focusing on audio with this one long before whatever they've got lined up for animation. Can't say I have terribly high hopes for anything extra special, but I believe this should be a solid episode given that it's the halfway point and the debut.

That was by far one of the most BRUTAL and somewhat weird subversion of a panty shot ever (I mean, rice bowl?)!

Hmm... Decent episode, though it wasn't as good as I expected. Up to the concert, the humor was a down-grade from the previous episode and went back to the pathetic "OMG MOEMOE, isn't it By: Staff" type of material for Mio, but to a point, it was funny...

And then the big first concert I was anticipating... And it turned out to be a gag... (-_-) I think the song was decent, but couldn't focus on it thanks to... *cough*
For some reason, it was like some PV... Which was still OK, because whether the scene was funny is up to someone's sense, but then we have Yui's hoarse voice in the background...

Speaking of Yui's voice... Voice actor did a good job, un...

Speaking of Yui, one shot of her had strangely long legs... Around the part where they were practicing... Kind of rare for KyoAni.

that was the worst music video I've ever seen.... you girls better not write songs anymore .... Yeah but it was good ep., some white places, but not much humor in there. Maybe I was expecting too much.... and yes, Yui= great voice color

ahahaha, brilliant episode, just brilliant. The pacing up to the concert was just right, a very good balance between light comedy and the seriousness that entitled a public performance. For anyone that has ever been in the same situation of giving a recital or something akin, this episode just clicks in. The concert performance, while certainly unexpected, its not bad at all, on the contrary, it stroke me as quite original. Kudos to KyoAni.

Certainly this episode is not 'epic' as some people might want it to be, but it you know your genre you will be pleasantly surprised.

but this definitely didn't match up to the Ending or the Opening
I blame the song and the cheesy (but not amusing) music video

Geez. How much clearer could it have been? Did you just wanted for Yui to shout 'HEY! THIS IS A JOKE! YOU CAN LAUGH HERE BTW! HOHOHOHO'. Because that was just what her *cough* voice, obviously amateurish music video and cheesy lyrics told me. That thing just threaded the fine line between being deadpan and slapstick. And it worked for me, I was just laughing out the whole way.

The song was the one written by Mio in the manga (just with an instrumental backing to it), and her taste in songs was exactly what was given. Heavy on the sweetness. That said, I liked the spontaneous music video. It made the episode fun, for much the same reason as Ritsu's over-the-top speeching in the music room. It was fun.

I knew what to expect from the 4koma but I sure recall people talking as if they wanted the dream team of Petrucci, Hellhammer, Wakeman and (late) Burton.

It was a fun episode, but it didn't have quite the kick to it the past few episodes have had for me, especially compared to last episode, but it wasn't bad either.

The music video thingy caught me by surprise, but Yui's background vocals kind of messed with it a bit (intentional I'm sure).

Still a good episode overall.
