I wouldn't say that's exactly 'dom'. And uh, I've seen plenty. She's usually the one depicted as wearing the pants.

That's just cute, has little to do with 'pants'.

Besides in most relationships, the dom is not the one in control (the sub allows the dom to be dom) and either can be the dom :/ it changes, its dynamic.

As was mentioned before, the image above doesn't depict a Dom/sub relationship. In this particular case, it is more of a romantic gesture, with Fate appearing as a chivalric figure (which she is, admit it) to Nanoha. That we associate the archetype of Knight with masculine and proactive, while the Princess is feminine and passive, is a cultural thing. It needs not be true in Fate and Nanoha's relationship, whatever it may actually be.

She's a chivalric figure to kids, maybe, but not Nanoha. Fate's the shy, reserved type while Nanoha is the open one. Fate would be too embarassed to do anything like that.
