If I interpreted it correctly, the final move is a bit like Taichi or any other martial art where a fighter takes the energy from another and directs it back at the user. Kamito activated one of the sword techniques and Greyworth blocked every one. Kamito was like, "What the hell, how is she doing this? She's way past her prime." But then Kamito understood everything because he noticed Greyworth was following his motion and absorbing every strike for one giant counter strike. |

Nope, it's a private lesson as it always has been. You have to have a lot of talent in the sword arts to learn her craft (something only Kamito has). Lots of talent as in "seeing the attack once and instantly understanding the key essence of the move." According to Greyworth, if you don't understand it the first time, you'll never understand it.
Greyworth's lessons can only taught by "experiencing" the attack. What I mean by experiencing is that Greyworth HAS to use the attack against you without holding anything back. In most cases, if your talent isn't enough, you'd already be dead. If it was anyone else on Team Scarlett, they would all be dead. That's why Kamito has a nightmarish experience with Greyworth in the past. Kamito experienced countless near-death situations from learning her craft. A very common situation would be Kamito and Greyworth sparring (without holding back), and Greyworth would activate her new technique. Kamito sees it, understands it, gets injured, and then blacks out. When Kamito wakes up, he asks for pointers and additional clarification on the technique. |

The archer and knight are still the same (i.e. average at best). The 2nd princess seriously beefed up in volume 7 after suffering through an inferiority complex because of her fighting strength. You're correct. Most of the time, the other girls are useless. Claire's fire tickles, the princess' fields gets destroyed, the archer/knight's arrows and sword bounce off. Ok, that may be exaggerating, but in the grand scheme, they're relatively useless. |
