Well well well, what a pleasant surprise this episode was (this seems to be a trend with Generation 2 nowadays)
Spoiler for early impressions:

Also there seems to be a trend with Generation 2 and trashing new MS (or variations of new MS) during their introductory episode. What the hell thus far, the only suit that looked good in their first episode was the Genoace 2 and the AGE-2, and they both ended up getting wrecked on screen badly (even if one of them was during a simulation)

Aside from confirming female vegans, one of the Magicians 8 looks like a grown up Arabel Zoi.

Did you mean this guy?

Spoiler for Comparisons:

Well, he does have the same eyes, but his hair is purple compared to kid Arabel's blue. But then again, looking at Flit's current hair colour compared to those of his younger self, it is a possibility. Guess Grodek better watch his back now...

Yeah, that guy. The timing is suspicious now that the true unsung hero is free.

Thus the start of Asem's conflict with his father. I kinda agree with Flit though, Techno Solon and the colony as an operation and logistical support Vegan base is a great risk for the EFF that warrants military action.

I was half-expecting Woolf to get injured gravely or even die in his mission, but apparently he can dodge bullets. MS-side, the Adele Titus entrance was a little bit underwhelming and was almost completely forgotten when Age-2 stole the show.

Romary cries with just a mention of Zeheart! Atleast this episode had some nice scenes of Remi (she actually cleaned the MS catapult) and Millias.

In summary:

* Woolf makes Solid Snake look like an amateur when it comes to infiltration, he's such a badass
* Flit's no-nonsense way of handling things and almost genocidal attitude towards the Vagan continues - He's definitely not wrong when he says "a moment of hesitation could lead to greater damage" and it's hard for the viewer to fault him considering we've seen what he's been through in great detail. This is why we had to start with the Flit Arc, even though the execution of that arc leaves much to desired, the setup is preciously for moments like these to capitalise on.
* Asemu is still in conflict - the argument between him and Flit was quite powerful, Flit's position is much more realisitc, whereas Asemu's is more idealist. I think Asemu secretly feels that his father is correct (especially when he thinks about Zeheart trying to kill him) and finding it difficult to hold onto his ideal of "protecting everyone", and again because we've had the Flit Arc and in some ways Flit still feels like a protagonist (especially with him being so capable and prominent) this creates a much better sense of presenting different and conflicting view points compared with other work that would only push for the protagonist being the only "correct" one.
* I think Gordrick might actually be the one to tell Flit to loosen up a little on the hatre

I think this is the first time we've seen a faced Vagan character die in a mobile suit fight too....

"The Veigan man is dead"? So that means there's a 3rd party in this conflict that wants the evidences to be cleared. Hmmmm... Interesting..

Titus wear is just a wear, didn't really do anything. Such a waste. Now I want them to use Spallow's

Or he is just reporting (in code) to the presumed chief Vegan spy somewhere in the EFF.

I suppose this will play into Godrick feeling guilty about how he helped colour Flits view of the world back when he revealed to him what were X-rounders (he told him then that the UE weren't humans, and since then that was the view that Flit took upon his treatment towards the Vegan's). So the mistakes of the past continue to hunt down the cast even now ...

Grodek returns (just for a brief moment or two). Woolf again shows how much of a bad-ass he is. Was expecting emo-ness and teenage angst, but Asemu's deeds demonstrated otherwise. With the skills that he has, I don't think he needs X-Rounder hacks.

All in all, this was an unexpectedly entertaining episode for a transitional one.

I don't know. Asemu had good intentions while Flit had sound decision-making acumen. But on the flip side, Asemu lacked the ability to understand the situation (i.e. war, regard for life inevitably wanes) while I have doubts about Flit's perspective.

IMO the Vagans make better infiltrators than soldiers. Seems like after centuries of isolation and indoctrination by their leader they have become arrogant to the point that they become out-of-touch with Earth and the people who live on her. That probably led to the mistake of underestimating the Federation's power. On the other hand, Vagans who were made to become infiltrators have the brains to cover up their traces, as compared to their brainless counterparts who have never in their lives laid foot on Earth or the space colonies.

And the Federation doesn't seem to be that bad after all, since at the least they recognised Grodek's feats at the very end. I see the Federation as a decent governing body, but handicapped by their infrequent lack of political will, sometimes their softness towards their enemies. They probably need people like Flit to push them a bit, prompt them to act decisively.

Another solid episode. A good character episode.

Flit once again showed his ruthlessness in his war against the Vagan, but he definitely was right that "a moment of hesitation will lead to even more suffering", as shown by the collateral damage. Still, he could have explained more to Asemu and tried to make him understand his view instead of giving him the cold shoulder every time Asemu is trying to do something.

Things are not well for Asemu. He is struggling with his own ideals. He is trying to be a decent man in an indecent time. Like Romary said, this is war and everyone has to endure. In the end, Asemu can only fight on. Let's see how the next episode: Meeting with Zeheart will add to his misery.

Adele sucks. Titus overpowered in a melee fight? Lolwut?

AGE-2 is badass though, the way it moved and sliced up those Vagans. But the art in these scenes were...off

A hint of a 3rd party? Hmm...interesting

Adele doesn't suck, as usual it's the pilot's fault.
Heck they didn't even use the beam lariat or beam spikes.
Man if Obright was not using that Genoace 2....

While Flit may be tagged a bit of a racist and extremist in the eyes of others it doesn't change the fact the other side are genocidal fanatics. His experience is that if the Vegans can do that to a seven year old child what more adults? Indeed we similar personality defects between Decil and the Magicians 8.

The reason Zeheart is targeting Assem is that he is in the process of being disillusioned of Ezelcant's indoctrination.

Vegans are essentially North Koreans in space cooped up away from Earth and other humans for too long. Which then their leader decides to plunder their richer neighbor.

Assem realizes there is no turning back for Zeheart. He hits that reality to Romary who brings a torch for Zeheart.
