I think Soma going to be tie with Hayama at most. Quite impossible I think for someone that just start to experiment with spices can suddenly outdo a specialist at that field.

94, although a different set of judges, he still failed to top Alice's score. I guess Souma pretty much has to get a 96 or higher.

In a way he topped Alice by getting full approval of the pickiest judge there is. The overall score has a bit of bias mixed in due to having several judges with almost assuredly different tastes and preferences. It's up for discussion, but you can't deny he outdid Alice in certain aspects.

Erina just didn't realize her love for him yet and mistook it for admiration. Just like in many other manga the heroine mistook her feeling for the protagonist for friendship. Hohoho.
