[Manga] Fullmetal Alchemist Gaiden : Fight On! Second Lieutenant v2
I have not read anything regarding the manga being licensed yet. If it is, would the mods please remove this thread.
Anyways here is a cheerful love story to take everybody's mind off their troubles Right. The Hawkeye Boys have moved back into Central. After attending the funeral of Brigadier Hughes, they got back to their lives & jobs. And here's where poor Havok's troubles start... Version 2.0 below http://www.anime-source.com/banzai/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=620 Note that viewing is no longer via Forum but through the Manga section of above site. Link has been edited to reflect this. Also know that this is not an Anime-Source Project but just a personal plaything (I'm not committed to making it a regular project). brightman & zebrafish have told me they thought it was Catherine. OMchan (you) think its Kathryn. For me, my first thought was to try as close to the katakana as possible, Caslin (Casslin). The romaji would be Kya-su-rin. I only recently realised that ス can be used for "th" as in "デス ザ キッド being "Death the Kid". So truthfully, I'm not too sure which of the three is correct Personally I'm leaning towards Catherine now (it seems to match Alex more to me...) I'll update the online manga with this and some corrections (thanks zebrafish) soon. Version 2.0 Changed Casslin's name to Catherine Added in footnotes on literal vs artistic licenses (for interesting tidbits) Error corrections on pages 3 & 4. Last edited by Yebyosh; 2004-05-18 at 21:13. Reason: Error - Katakana not equal kanji (dumb dumb...) |

Thanks for sharing, Yebyosh!
I love Armstrong... It's neat to take a look at the rest of his family. Poor Havok :O Anway... K/C debate- Well... since Japanese is so phoenetic, all that really matters is what it sounds like Catherine/Katheryn... heck... there are multiple ways to spell Catherine in English, too..so as long as it sounds right, I'm happy XD I took a little bit of Japanese in college, and after that, I was amazed by the little things I noticed with older licenced anime titles. I'm by no means fluent, but I know just enough to be dangerous.. lol Like when people spell Alucard "Arucard." That just drives me nuts. Alucard....It's Dracula backwards. If you spell Arucard backwards, you get Dracura. Yet.. some people will fight and fight that "Arucard" is the way it's supposed to be spelled XD In La Pucelle, there's a Pirate dude. His name sounds like Omar, but in the US port, they spelled it Homard. Go figure. |
