Hmm... Not much discussion on this.
I found the first episode to be neither great nor awful. Mostly a setup episode to get the girls together. Rather amusing that it ends up being a "you all meet in a tavern" kind of situation: the traditional party-forming scenario. The show seems fairly simple, but not necessarily in a bad way. I could go for a basic fantasy adventure. Also, the contrasting personalities of the girls show promise of fun to come. Besides, dragon-girls! Who doesn't like them some dragon-girls?

I get that the series seems rather generic RPG-ish so far, still I figured it would rate a bit more than the almost dead-silence it's gotten here since the first episode.

I've seen it. But nothing really to comment. As I feared, looks like a rushed job during pre-production and production, given the overall animation quality in the first episode. Considering all the money GREE makes they could have given a bit more budget for this series.
Story-wise, it's too early to tell if there's anything good or bad. |

Maybe I am a little late commenting, but this is series look better than expected. If we compare it to GREE's previous series (Tanken Driland and yes, I saw all 37 episodes) the story looks more interesting. If we compare it with Gonzos previous offering (Nyanpire, and again I saw it all) this is a lot better animated (as in "Look, a real budget and not just scraps), it is even better animated than Driland (which was made by Toei). So far I like the girls and I hope the next episode will show some hack & slash (which of course will be non-bloody like in Driland, monsters evaporate when slain). If this follows rpg tropes we will see the girls gaining some levels, increasing their stats (go Jorgumand, you can further increase your strength and armor skin), get some gold, do some pillaging ... I mean, woot!

Leviathan 02 - Back in Mississippi
The main driving force of this show seems to be that Syrup is just kind of dickish. I did like that we got a little more insight into Bahamut's life - the rich girl type with a father who's always at work, it seems - but really, most of it was Syrup acting all smart-alecky. (And getting stuck in the swamp.) I thought it took them awhile to arrive at the solution of Levi softening the mud with her water, but given that there was a freaking huge dragon in there, Bahamut may have been in more trouble if they used that originally. Jormugand's method of life preservation... was the exact opposite. Shows like this always end up being obscure little curios, footnotes of history... which only serves to make them more interesting for me, even when they're still running. There's still the matter of the dragon. |

Watched the first episode last night. It's an interesting series where Syrop seems to cause a ton of trouble, and the comedic fight at the tavern reminds of how Fairy Tail did its comedy in some of the early episodes.
Leviathan seems to be a brocon, but her water magic is pretty cool. Bahamut also interests me. It wouldn't surprise me if she and one of the other dragon girls had a yuri subtext thing going on. It seems good for a Gonzo series. |

So, can the girls avoid killing themselves or each other by accident before they get a chance to save the planet?

That said it's.... reasonable. Again, I find it a shame that the dragon forms are transformations rather than the girls always having wings and tails, but I can live with it. Animation is so-so. Not bad, but not much to write home about either. Voice acting's solid though, which is always important. The story is... not all that much so far. This series is looking to be a rather casual save-the-world story so far. It might pick up, but I'm not holding my breath. All in all, pretty much just watching it for the dragon girls, but it goes down easily enough to be enjoyable. Still better than Dragon Crisis. That show I had to drag myself through. |

hmmm ED song on this one is pretty good.
got a full dose of cute Bahamut this Ep2 , wonder if that dragon at the end is an enemy or turn out to be "friend" in the vein of Summons Final Fantasy style. The OP shows 11 dragon cards, I suppose this is one of them, something to make them stronger.

Hmm, I strangely like this show, it has an interesting take on getting the characters together. I was kinda impressed that it wasn't the cliche:
"the main characters meet each other, since they're there, they would spend some time together for the heck of it." I'm REALLY glad it DID NOT end up that way. Heck, we're on episode 2 now and the main characters are still not friends. This actually makes me curious on why is the story written in such a way that it purposely avoids making the main characters friends ASAP. I'll keep my eye on this and see how it turns out. |

Leviatan 03 - Steven Magnate
I didn't see the story taking this kind of turn. Yurururururururulungurnu isn't an enemy, he's more of a Jabu Jabu. (Which just makes me think of this). Syrup didn't cause as much trouble this week, either, mostly because she was acting as Yuru's mouthpiece. And for the people he's hosting inside his stomach, Yuru's actually a pretty nice guy. He goes out of his way to get them the food they want, even if it looks like he's smashing up a tavern for no real reason. Levi got to do some pretty cool stuff, too. Using her tea as a weapon works in a pinch, and if anything, there's even shipping being hinted at? I don't know how dragon/dragonoid relationships work, but I'd imagine their world would allow it. Just for taking a turn I didn't expect, I enjoyed this episode a whole lot. |
