But seriously out of respect for the person's dignity don't go and to something like that.

Also for that guy's dignity, remember to wash him so that he don't stink when he does woke up...

Edit: For feeding, put him on da drip...

As a nurse, I assure thats it involves a lot of stuff and a lot of manpower, hence why it was so costly. The reason is obvious: the patient can't do anything.

You use tube to give them food and drink, sometimes infusion drip. You also have to keep their body clean (lap-wash and bath). Ditto with excretion, catheter and usage of enema. More than that, sometimes you had to help their mobility (by moving their arms and legs, up to their fingers, as well as neck, and change their position sometimes) to keep the muscles from weakening too much and keep the blood circulation clear.

And that's assuming the patient's condition is relative stable....

@ Senpai - Hence why they said they could train people and get more soldiers for what they're paying for him. Irish is that soldier by technicality. So, how will he be moved? Can he even be moved from his position?

You said he would be given under the care of Tate's org, so he'd have to be moved somewhere and not stay on the FRACTURE base. Can he be moved elsewhere?

Mou, that's easy, just have him carried in a wheeled, portable bed (that can double as stretcher). He would be carried using an ambulance, ship or plane (depending on location), there's not much problem in that:

Probably some life support, depending on Joshua's condition at the time (the more stable he is the less equipment needed).

If that's the case, stuff can happen. At best nothing, at worst a dangerous shock which require quick medical assistance.

Although Infinite Stratos Academy was built on Japanese territory and closely follows Japan’s education system but one thing that differentiated ISA education from Japanese’s is that ISA consider Christmas as a public holiday and everybody get to go home to celebrate with their love ones on that day..... Otherwise the Western Countries would rage against the ISA and even declare war on it. Unfortunately, that also means that he could not spent the time with his best friend, Dan, who is still attending lessons in school. With all the household chore done and his sister, Chifuyu, out to doing some shopping, he has nothing to do in the afternoon. He decided to watch some television program to pass time after preparing Chifuyu's favourite pudding. Ding-dong The doorbell rang. Ichika went to open the door and was stunned by the beautiful girl wearing a cute red and white Santa Claus dress..... "Are you going to let me in or what?!" The girl snapped while her cheek is flushing red. Ichika was still stunned by her. Image of Houki being cute clashes with his previous images of her being strong and strict like his sister..... "Houki....Why are you dressed like that?" Ichika asked densely as the girl walked in "F-for....the festive season of course!" Houki snapped at him again. That was a surprise. Ichika always thought Houki to be very traditional Japanese person who does not celebrate foreign holiday such as Christmas. ---- Ding-Dong As soon as Ichika finish serving tea to Houki, the doorbell rang again. Ever since the previous holiday, he had expected this to happen so he prepared extra tea for everybody. Ichika opened the door and Rin walked in wearing causal clothing.... only to shook her head in disappointment when she saw Houki in Santa Claus Dress. She knew it. She should have worn one of the costumes too.... Secretly Houki smirked in her mind. She won this round against the girls, being the first girl to be in the house. --- The next visitors came in a pair. Charlotte wearing causal clothes like Rin and somehow she does not look very surprise or disappointed in seeing other girls but Ichika contribute that more to the state of embarrassment due to Laura right beside her, if this is an anime, Charlotte probably wearing a sweat-drop on her head, for a good reason: Laura was wearing a Santa Claus dress while being tied up in a ribbon. “I am your Christmas Present, are you happy?” Laura asked in a strict tone of voice. Ichika thought hard on how to respond to it, somehow he had the strange feeling that the wrong answer will get him killed. He finally decided on the simplest and the most generic answer: “You look cute in it.” He do not know why Laura fainted but Charlotte quickly push the dreamy-face girl away before he could even help her. --- Ding-Dong The second last bell for the day came a little later than Ichika expected. Ichika open the door, he is shocked. There is nobody but a very large present in front of him. [For Ichika] the label stated in English. Suddenly the lid burst open, Cecilia pop out of the present like a jack-in-a-box, wearing a very provoking Santa Costume. “SURPRISE! MERRY CHRISTMA ICHIKA!” Cecilia announced.... only to have her face turn into the person in the painting of The Scream when she saw the girls behind him. Houki is wearing her perpetual scowl along with Laura who is munching on a rice cracker. Rin is clucking, trying to hold back her laughter. “That’s surprising daring of you....Cecilia-san...”Charlotte finally broke the silence. === Much to his surprise, Cecilia is not the second last visitor since the Gotanda sibling came while still wearing their school uniform. For some unknown reason to Ichika, Ran looked rather angry at Cecilia and Houki. She is basically glaring at the girls the entire day. Watching the time, Ichika decide to prepare the dishes for Christmas early due to the numbers of people in the house. Thank to Dan acting as a distraction to Cecilia, they manage to prevent another cooking disaster from happening.... The last door-bell sounded and Chifuyu came along with Maya. With the girls too soak in the atmosphere. The presence of Chifuyu did not dampen the spirit that much... on the other hand, she seems a little tipsy. “You Lucky bastard...” Dan whispered in Ichika’s ear. Spoiler for Bloody Christmas Version: ---- 5 years ago, at a certain airport, a man with white hair, wearing a thick red coat with white fur, waited anxiously at the airport with a briefcase. He looked at his watch for the thirteenth time. And felt a tug on his coat. “Are you a Santa Claus?” A young boy asked the man who took a quick glance at his own attire. He does look like Santa Claus after all. The man gave the boy a warm smile. “Ho-ho-ho! What a smart little boy you are, you have found me out.... here’s a present for you.” The old man searched his pocket for a sweet he just brought at the gift shop and gave it to the boy gleaming with delight. “Where are you going?” The boy asked the “Santa Claus”. “To give a present to the whole world.” The “Santa Claus” replied, giving a soft tap on his brief case. A quick glance at the departing board told him that it is time for him to leave. “Why aren’t you using your reindeers?” The boy asked again. “The military shot them down because they thought they are enemy planes.” The man said absent-mindedly. “Did Rudolph survive?” the boy asked again. “No.” Pressed for time, the man gave a quick reply. “Boy. I have to go....See you later tonight.” “Good bye Santa Claus.” The boy sniffed. === The “Santa Claus” walked briskly through Jet Bridge, puzzled by the strange symbol of a bird with inverted wings on the walls. He passed by a man wearing a Janitor uniform with red stain. He did not manage to make it to the plane as the Janitor pull out a gun and shot him before he can. As blood drain from his body, he could hear the “Janitor” talking to the phone. “Just in case, kill everybody here, let nobody escape alive....” The “Janitor” looked at the man. He walked over next to him and whispered. “Merry Christmas Professor, this is a present to you: a massacre performed by E.B.C....” The Janitor unloaded few more shot to the man’s head. The Overture to the blood and carnage known later to the world as the Bloody Christmas... __________________ Ara Han

Even as the way they fell was gentle, the weight of each flake was great. Cold, overbearing and mercilessly asserting itself. She didn't wonder why her parents named her Chifuyu now. Even though it's Christmas now she was out here in the streets, walking around aimlessly. Chifuyu wondered why. Maybe it was because she felt uncomfortable when those girls came to the house. A tight feeling that coiled around her heart as she watched each one vie for her little brother's attention. It almost like she wasn't a part of the celebration at all so she quickly made an excuse and left, lest her heart break apart. She'd tried to call Yamada, but the co-teacher was with her family to celebrate. This left Chifuyu all alone, a woman drinking alone in a bar would just be too sad. She breathed in to her mitt covered hands and looked around herself. Happy couples, joyful families, silly smiles. Everyone seemed to be enjoying this wintry wonderland that Tokyo had become. Chifuyu tried to smile but found that she couldn't. This was sad... much too sad... Why didn't she just stay at home where it's warm? Her family was there, the only person that meant the world to her. "Ichika", she thoughtlessly spoke his name. Chifuyu looked back to the road and continued to walk as her thoughts swirled again. Separated from their parents since young, the Orimura siblings had to fend for themselves for the longest time. Chifuyu had taken on the role of the provider, given that she was nine years older than her younger sibling. Though she preferred him not to push himself, Ichika had naturally taken on the role of caretaker. It felt odd at first but the two got accustomed to this arrangement as the years passed. Sometimes Chifuyu would even tease Ichika of being her wife, because really. What man would aska woman when she got home "Would you like dinner? Or a bath? Or perhaps... a massage?". Chifuyu blushed when she remembered the last one. The first time he'd asked that of her, Chifuyu almost mistook it for something else and she clobbered him for it. "That idiot little brother.", Chifuyu grunted. Her steps were now more agitated, leaving deeper footprints in the snow. She stopped in her tracks when she saw a small poster that featured a restaurant. The ad itself didn't interest her, the line underneath did. Celebrate the holidays with your family "Family", Chifuyu echoed to herself. Ichika was her only family now. She had no one else. But, those girls liked Ichika, they wanted him. As the young man's older sister, Chifuyu was happy and even proud that he was attracting such fine female companions but somewhere in that same heart, she was afraid. She didn't want to lose him. She didn't want Ichika to leave her for one of them. Perhaps, tonight one of them would succeed, one of those girls could finally ensnare Ichika's elusive heart. Maybe tonight would be the last night Ichika and her could be this close. Chifuyu couldn't stand the thought and ran home. The door to the Orimura house was slammed open. It was especially loud sicne the house seemed to be silent. Chifuyu entered with her breath shaking. More cold than tired, Chifuyu quickly shut the door behind her and made her way to the living room. If the party was anywhere then it would be there. Her heart nearly stopped when she saw the girls all curled up on the couch, all of them wearing some sort of skimpy Santa outfit or another. They were fast asleep and Chifuyu wondered with horrid fascination whether Ichika was under that pile. One step forward and something caught in Chifuyu's feet. A blanket, a rather large blanket. The elder Orimura blinked and smiled as she began to piece it all together. This must have been Ichika's doing. The girls would probably catch a cold sleeping in those outfits. Chifuyu pulled up the large piece of cloth and carefully tucked the girls in. For Ichika. Chifuyu decided that it was probably time to head for the kitchen. She had neglected to grab a bite to eat while she was outside and it was now nearing midnight. She sighed, such a sad Christmas. But it seemed the world had not forsaken her. The first thing Chifuyu noticed at the table was a figure bundled up like a shanghai roll. The normally stoic woman had to hold in her laughter when she realized that her younger brother's face was sticking out of the small opening from the comforter cocoon. Chifuyu sat down at the small table where Ichika was hunched over and saw a piece of note beside a covered dinner set. It was in Ichika's handwriting. I cooked a lot of your favorite dishes this year because this time you were going to be around. It would be a waste if you couldn't have any so I saved you some. Hope you're hungry--Ichika Chifuyu took off the cover and smiled. She ate silently while sitting across from her family. He may have been asleep and the food may have been cold, but it was one of the best Christmases she ever had. ------------------------------- That night, Ichika woke up. His vision was bleary and he noticed an extra source of warmth with all the surrounding cold. He blinked a bit and recognized his sister. "Chifuyu-nee?". "Un...", Chifuyu grunted her acknowledgement. "You're back." "Mmm..." Ichika's muddled mind registered two arms holding him tighter from outside of his comforter cocoon. "Oh right, Chifuyu-nee. It's Christmas! I should go get you your present." "I don't need it.", Chifuyu cuddled into the softness that was Ichika's comforter cocoon. "I guess you're tired. But at least get a blanket. you'll freeze like that." "Shut up. You're loud.", Chifuyu complained irritably. A few seconds of awkward silence pass and Ichika felt her hold relax a bit. "Just let me stay like this. Just for a little bit. That'll be enough." Ichika looked upon his sister's peacefully sleeping face. It was rare that she would wear such a gentle unguarded expression. Ichika sighed, "It can't be helped.". He carefully pried her arms away from himself and covered her with the comforter as well. Chifuyu was freezing when Ichika touched her underneath the blanket. The young man gave his big sister a hug and hoped that would be enough to warm her up. He closed his eyes and muttered a quick, "Merry Christmas sis.".
