On a side note, I feel disturbing the number of kamikaze awards that i'm getting with the Pz III/IV. It doest help that last night I killed a Easy 8 ramming him at full speed (I survived)

In case any MUP members haven't heard, we have designated the T-34 and T-34/85 as the clan tanks. Possession of one or more of these tanks is strongly suggested, so please set aside a garage and some time to grind them. We will be using them in clan events.

..Objection. I did not sign up for a dictatorship! I'll be happy to play Tier 5's and 6's but I don't want to start a fourth country's tech tree!

willx: Please, I'm going through FIVE tech trees. :P

I don't have a problem with the T-34 (already have one in Elite status), but the T-34/85 is going to be pretty painful given how the MM works.

Five countries I'm going more paths than that.. let's see:

Germany Heavies x 2
German Mediums (either x 1 or x 2)
German Arties
U.S. Autoloaders
British Mediums
British Heavies

That also doesn't include "one-offs" like the King Leopard and my Grille

I believe I've made my stance on Soviet tanks clear on several occasions.

For that matter, VK 3601 (H) is the master of Tier 6. Why some people chose the T-34-85 is beyond me.

I just got enough XP to get the T-43 after a bunch of unpleasant fighting in the T-34-85. Not planning on keeping the -85, it's so average that it's average.

But I kinda also already said this in the MuP group, so to add more content...

I'm trying to maintain my tenuous grip on my 51% win rate, without worrying about how I get there (and, as we discovered, without having to game the system in training rooms). This means making up for all those screwed-by-MM games in the T-34-85 with relatively easier play elsewhere.

I'm trying to avoid XVM (though it seems that using it confers a number of tertiary advantages like minimap mods and giant audio Sixth Sense warnings) because of the whole stats-grubbing factor, though.

I have the VK 3601 H, and while my stats on it aren't anything to write home about (46% win rate), at least I'm used to it (the fact it has decent armor and HP doesn't hurt). The T-34/85 is, by all accounts, outgunned and under-armored at its tier, which might... hurt a bit.

Oh, that's okay, I totally understand! Why don't you two have a seat right over here for a little bit of re-education?

More seriously, we can't actually force anyone to get a T-34, and tbh I'm not sure it's a great idea to choose the T-34/85 as a mainstay tank anyhow. I was kind of of the opinion that in a TC those who are using tier 6 should bring whatever they're good with and the rest be the T-34 standard. Anyone who has ideas about this should come to the MUP group for further discussion.

Why you should always protect artillery:

Ram through, take out artillery, cap for victory. A clean victory.

It isn't. Quite frankly I'd rather have a bunch of T-34s (they are great Tier Vs) fighting alongside a few allocation of KV-1s.

Either that, or we can always go with Panzer IVs

I take it you used the Ensk metropolitan rail?

E50 - When retreating (to the enemy base) is the best option

If we're focusing on Champion TCs, we're inevitably going to meet teams with KV-1S as their mainstay tank (some of us here may know what I'm talking about). I've thought about some possible tactics to use against such teams, knowing that no other tank in Tier VI can match, or have sufficient armour against, such a combination of mobility and firepower.

My conclusion is that, instead of trying to slug it out with KV-1S teams (a losing proposition), we need to outdo that particular tank in both of its strengths.

So what I've come up with is this; 3 or 4 KV-2s equipped with the 152, to hold a particular spot with hard cover and cause the entire attacking team of KV-1S to get pinned in position for fear of the megaderp. The rest of the team? 105 derp equipped Easy Eights, to flank them and cause disarray in their ranks.

Thoughts?

Heh, megaderp.

Can't comment on the Easy-8, but since I am shelling out cash for extra garage space in a day or two, I might consider giving it a spot for my new tier 6s (Cromwell and AMX 12t aside).

Quickly, patent the idea!

Also from my PoV, the T-34 is not one of the best Tier 5 mediums, but in packs they can do a LOT. The 57mm is a GODDAMN buzzsaw (1.9 reload time with crew 100%, rammer & vents). The downsides are: weak acceleration, tendency to get tracked very often, ammorack is everywhere, and the engine is the first thing to get taken out.

The T-34/85 is actually one of the best Tier 6 mediums IMO, and they are specially deadly when in wolfpacks. Decent acceleration & top speed, can equip the same gun of the T-43, and it doesn't see more than tier 8. Also its turret is infamous for being bouncy. Unfortunately it has the very same flaws than his predecesor, and is a moving ammorack.
