Char's Counterattack (The climax of the first U.C that ties up all the loose ends of the major characters relationships and the unfinished plot points).

It's the same thing with live-action movies in Japan.

People would rather just stay home and watch shows or rent movies then go out to the theater.

My picks-
Nausicaa
FMA movie

Not even need to think about it: Whisper of the Heart is undoubtedly the best anime movie I've ever seen. Some of the reasons are stated here

Until Yesterday I would've said the same thing. But I saw Toki wo kakeru shoujo aka The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
And I think it was not only on a par with it, it may actually be even greater. Still I wouldn't want Whisper of the Heart not to be somewhere on the top, so from now on I'll just have two favorite movies.

"Whisper of the Heart" here too with "Spirited Away" coming a close second. I don't know but I think it's the simple perspective on life that I like about the movie. Nothing too supernatural.

I've still to watch Tokijo but judging by the feedback it's probably going to be another must own once the English subs DVD is out

I haven't seen this thread before, (I've tried the search button) but forgive me if this has been posted before.

I actually haven't seen that many anime movies to make a Top 5... but I really enjoyed The Girl that Leapt Through Time.

The ending is a little bit puzzling though...

Since the top ten list in my signature features 4 movies, this should be easy:

1) Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
2) Byousoku 5 Centimetre
3) Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho
4) Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo
5) Bleach: Memories of Nobody
