Ahiru no Sora [Fall 2019] Anticipation



Manga 'Ahiru no Sora' is getting a TV anime adaptation by diomedea. Director is Shingo Tamaki.

Plot Summary

He's short, weak, and has just transferred to a new school. Kurumatani Sora is the main character in this story who loves basketball. He has been shooting hoops ever since he was little and has been trying to grow tall just like his mother, who "used" to be a basketball player. What has happened to her and what Sora is going to do at the new school is all up to you to find out!

Second oldest manga in current Weekly Shounen Magazine finally got anime. Too bad Diomedea is shitty studio.

Not that bad compared to some studios, but their track record is generally mediocre, if not terrible.
I really wanted to give Cheer Fruits a try since it's the kind of unpopular heroine action anime I like if not expecting much.

I think Diomedea has done some pretty good work down through the years, actually, but the staff here is hardly elite - that actually concerns me more than the studio.

First episode is up on Crunchyroll now.

Sora is like the kind of underdog that reminds me of Hinata from Haikyuu

A solid start for the first episode and I think there's plenty of room to develop for Sora. I find his character relatable and realistic especially with the school activities. The mood of the show seems to be balanced with drama and comedy. We already got a short glimpse of his past too. Madoka also seems like a strong female character.

Really excited to see the direction of this show is heading.
