All questions will be answered...and new questions asked during the 50 episodes you will see. How should I say, it is complicated.

It has a different focus altogether. In S1 it's pretty much about us the audience being presented to the world of Hinamizawa and of the tragedies the protagonist pass through. As S2 goes further, we the audience gain a more throughout understanding of what is going on, and the focus of the show shifts from the protagonists being victims to the protagonists struggling against their fate. All in all, if you enjoyed S1 for the characterization, the presentation of Higurashi's world and the overall mystery that shrouded the story then S2 will surpass your expectations. However, I've found that people who liked S1 for the gore and the horror have been disappointed to various degrees with S2.

finally they did, since higurashi isn't some crazy killer loli series ... in my opinion season 1 is pretty messed up, since they just focused on the horror. the horror was good indeed, but ... what's with the rest?! for example, seeing the end of the anime adaption of meakashi-hen makes me cry ... the real way how it ends is way way more touching and sad! (with the doll thing especially!) well, tatarigoroshi-hen was also bad adapted, in my opinion ... it was so confusing in many ways... argh, there are many things I dislike in season 1 ... they did a way better job on season 2, concerning the character relationships and things ... but that's my opinion, maybe I'm just overacting, but .. hm. I don't like it how lots of people think about Higurashi, but that's not their fault. It's more because DEEN simply messed up there ... (I think)

I guess he is talking about the Great Hinamizawa Disaster.
Well, this is answered in the second chapter of Kai anyway, though first episode of Kai will certainly unfold some hints.

Okay, I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, but has anyone here been to Shirakawa, the city that Hinamizawa was supposedly based on? If so, did you find anything out about the past of Shirakawa?
This may seem like a weird question, but I'm just wondering...>>" |
