I too like saki for its yuri tendancy although for people to be turn off by the implied nature between nodaka and saki is rather strange,

I was like, "Just say 'I made extra so we could share!'", instead of that crock. At least Yuuki goes out and claims Nodoka as her wife.
Depends. Nodoka's got a lot of Moe elements. Maybe one of them is that she is a big eater and it all goes to her boobs. (For Yuki, though, I have no idea where all her tacos go). The question is, does she always bring that much food, or just when she's eating with Saki?

I started to get frustrated at Saki and her timid-ness. God, I wanted Nodoka to slap her.
It's part of her character. Which is understandable - she's hasn't won much in her life. And it's not just her habit of getting 0 points - her sister apparently has the same feel as Fujita, so she must have lost to her a lot. Unlike Nodoka, who's won enough to make her think along the lines of "I'm the strongest" - though there, it seems there's a bit of "big fish in a small pond" effect.

Now, now. What would they be without a gopher? (Not to mention, he's also the Watson.)

He really is, wow.

In regards to Kyou ruining the yuri fantasy...well, it's not like Kyou x Saki or Kyou x Nodoka is a really viable pairing. And Kyou x Yuuki isn't that bad. They make a good pair. Kyou is sort of like the stand-in for the average otaku viewer, so why not have him paired up with the most loli character?

I don't see how his presence does anything but reinforce the yuri fantasy. He's the closest guy they have, and they seem to find him about as attractive as a moss covered rock. Not bad, not good, just part of the scenery.

like l said before the yuri moments between saki and nodoka is what's making me enjoy the show at the moment....later on when l hope l grow a better understanding of the game they are playing...then that wil pull me in as well.
Yes the yuri being shown here is very tamed l too at times am a bit surprised at people being bothered by the yuri moments...

Yuki sees him as a pet, which is better than nothing.

This is true normally, but as far as this series goes if anyone is going to be making pet's of people it's Koromo.

Spoiler for The Goddess of Mahjong:

Last one isn't Koromo but just that amount makes everything fine. I don't mind being dominated by the goddess of Mahjong.

While on topic of Kugyuuuuuuu

Not sure if it's been posted before, but

麻雀先進国くぎゅうううううう【釘宮×サンドキャニオン】

Kugimiya played a character in this video game Gokuraku jan, a puyo puyo like puzzle game with Mahjong.
Since Tacos is Kugimiya also, he remixed her role from Gokuraku-jan and made this.
Because of the voice it fits perfectly

The best 10 minutes I've spent today

Normally I see K Rie's voice the same way I see cancer but this time round I have to admit that her loli voice works...orz...

It's serenade_beta. At least 50% of his post has to be him nitpicking and tearing everything he lay his eyes upon apart. Otherwise we would start asking ourselves whether someone stole his identity or something

while I don't really find the steam an issue he is right about the fact that nowadays its mostly used to promote DVD sales.
there are some channels that actually censure on purpose but generally speaking production studios simply censure stuff to increase DVD sales.
then again its true that most fanservice oriented series use that trick, not just gonzo.
its either steam or cutting the scenes, I think this way it gives the viewers a better idea of the DVD they may want to buy.
you know its not shameful for companies to want to have their products sold.
with piracy as high as it is today they have to do whatever they can.

too early to talk about ep 5 for me, but wow, from the point of view of a mahjong player, ep 4 was twisted. i had never thought about playing to damage a particular player before. wow. of course its an anime and Nodoka just happened to have that piece, and Saki knew that the next tile on the dead wall would be her 8 thousand, but still. thats crazy.
