What may be interesting to note is that I've known people who could solve the toughest Sudoku in a very short time (less than 10 minutes). I'm not one of them (I tend to mess up the harder ones if I don't have enough numbers beforehand), but they're there.

This was completely silly and very fun to watch. I can already see one reason it is better than most series of its type: the characters don't spend half the episode explaining their choices and the rules of the game.

It's basically Spiral but better in every way. I'm cool with this.

cant agree more, this makes this anime so unique

and this series reminds me of the original YU-GI-OH anime, solving puzzles with dark storyline

A very goofy show that doesn't take itself too seriously, which is a good thing given the premise. I like how they made fun of the famous picture of Einstein pulling goof ball faces and I'm kind of taking a liking to Nonoha too for her spunkiness. Eventually I'd kind of like to see this show slow down to about a puzzle an episode though and have Daimon struggle through each of them. No reason not to use the shonen formula on this one since they've basically set it up to play out that way.

It's actually easy, but it involves moving everything back and forth round and round about 4-5 times. If you try to do it in 2-3 moves you'll just go "WTF!?"

Why aren't the subs for this series listed on the main page? It's not licensed. Is WhyNot? boycotting AnimeSuki or something?

No subs for episode two there yet.

@SeijiSensei WhyNot didn't sub episode 2 and 3, yet.

Also it's not about licensing, a lot of shows aren't listed.

After episode 2, I think I like this series. It's very simplistic and obviously aimed at a younger audience, but then I've never been good at puzzles anyway. I like the characters so far (though I wish Fukuyama Jun would tone it down...), and like how the show is not really taking itself particularly seriously. It reminds me of Spiral, for obvious reasons, though I kind of hope it won't get as dark as Spiral.

Btw, apparently Phi-Brain is tied with another NHK show called "Puzzle no oujisama/Puzzle Prince" - wherein pretty boys compete with each other by solving puzzles presented by the anime's main characters. ...okay...

First of all, that's the beta site. Until it becomes the production site, I see www.animesuki.com as the official list. Phi Brain doesn't even have an entry in the index. Second, on the beta list there are only three unlicensed shows, the rest are licensed.

As far as I know, GHD relies on the subbing groups to keep him informed about their releases. It's hardly his responsibility to seek out every release from every group. It just looks to me like WhyNot? isn't bothering to list here any more. Am I wrong?

They use the same database, but the beta shows when a series actually has an entry even if it's licensed or otherwise empty, hence why I used that.

It was mentioned by the staff that the site is staff maintained not crowd sourced, so it's not they are not adding themselves but rather that animesuki staff didn't register them yet, and they aren't bothering to correct it. I think you can just submit a listing correction yourself, if you want.

That Galileo is really annoying. Glad Kaito was able to solve it again, wonder if that after effect will keep on happening though. Nice to see a flashback form his childhood. Nonoha is the best, not only did she get him to the location of the second puzzle but she carried him home from the first. So seems like Kaito's friend from his flashback is the head of the POG and right now his enemy.

^I agree and sadly from the previews he's going to be a regular. I can't handle too much more of this show if he continues with his over the top behavior as his voice is already iirritating enough...

This show is a lot of fun, but they should have shown the solutions to Galileo's puzzles. The one with the T is pretty easy, and the one where you connect the 9 dots with 4 straight lines is very commonplace (I think it's where the expression "think outside the box" comes from), but what about the one where you're supposed to say which numbers are A and B? At first I thought it was a simple set theory problem, but I honestly couldn't figure it out.

@Uribatake in case you want to keep trying first: I'd say 'set theory' is a good starting point to figuring it out.
