Somehow, I can't imagine how the story of Rising can work after what hapened with Raiden in MGS4.

Raiden may be a cyborg, but someone needs to feed the family.

I imagine that would be the motives for most of the Desperados henchmen's as well... Kinda reminds me of the Kenshin movie where they show all these former Samurai without money or food and are forced to work as thugs.

Still doesn't really fit with Raidens ending in MGS4. I'm really sceptical about Risings story.

Speaking of CQC. I was surprised with Liquid Snake he won with holding back his CQC.
But this is Raiden's game, I go anymore further than that.

An interview with the staff in IGN says that Raiden is still with his family. He didn't want to become a soldier again so became a VIP bodyguard and a trainer for those guys from Africa to raise money.

So a cheap alibi reason to milc the cow more and make Raidon rescue the world...

After the end of MGS4 and after all Reaidon went through, I would have preffered if they would have letz him rest and made a knew character for this game or even better, not make this game in the MGS univers at all.

Its explained he joined to support his family and his son joined too.

AGREED!!!

A new MC would of been great!!!.......that would of been.....damn now that i have that on my mind my enthusiamn for this just went down the hill

srry raiden fans but i thinks his just a bland and uninteresting character...that said i still havent gotten around to rhe 4th game, only recently got a ps3

Bland or not, I like Raiden.
The thing is that first they intended to make a game about Raidon that played between MGS2 and 4. And I would have not been against it simply because it would fill some holes regarding Raidens role in the MGS universe.
And like I said, his story in the MGS universe ended with MGS4 in a satisfying way, and i really believe that they will cheapen everything with Rising.
I just have a bad feeling about it and I would have the same feeling if they decided to make a knew MGS game with Solid Snake that played after MGS4.
