I like how it all ends but it would be nice to show Goro and Kaoru's wedding. What a baseball nut family! Dad plays baseball. Step-dad plays baseball. Self plays baseball. Wife plays softball. Daughter plays softball. Son plays baseball. His son and daughter in laws probably will be baseball players.

I'm still watching S6. Currently at ep 16.
Hmm... it has gotten a little slow as of late. I though that it was getting better but sometimes I feel it lacks a sense of direction.

Ok, I just finished all 6 season of major. Despite it not being my favorite sports series and it having many lows and ups, it is definitely one of the more epic series I've ever seen. I definitely do not regret every minute I put into watching it, and as always it left me craving for more.
So what I am missing? I'm only watched the TV episodes. I know there's a movie about the time he spent in Fukuoka, but other than that I'm in the dark. edit: oh wait, nvm i found the ova

It would have been cool to see a season 7 like that, but it'd be a repeat of many of the themes in the first season so maybe it's for the best that they put it to rest. As much as I wanted to see for Major/
BTW just watched the OVA. Hmm... now that I look back the series had a good too many episodes for winding down after the big Coyotes vs Hornets match.

About the season 6 OVA (episode 155), I can see an April 8 release by umai listed: http://www.nyaa.eu/?page=download&tid=204075 which came out after the last post on this thread.
I noticed some another group also translated this 2011 episode which isn't currently tracked which perhaps could be added: Kira: http://www.nyaa.eu/?page=torrentinfo...45&showfiles=1 Also, it seems the beginning of the series isn't on Nyaa on its own (only in a giant batch for the entire series which doesn't include the OVA anyway) so I think I'll add MJN/F-B's season 1 there as a backup to SW. I wonder if I should put up some reseed requests... because season 2 is totally not getting seeded, at least not MJN's. I wanted to stick with that group... but I dunno, maybe I should try Saizen's? Or maybe the groups provide DDLs? Umai has provided DDLs, though not all were initially listed in their Nyaa links but do get listed in their blog: http://umai.is-fabulo.us/category/projects/major-s6/ Umai did episodes 1-16 of S6but I can only see torrent links in their blog. From 17 to 25 they do provide them. For ease, here are the FileServe links they posted below. Since they haven't batched their work, this may be easier than waiting for the torrents to seed, and something you can do while you watch earlier links from MJN or whatever. Episodes 14/15/16 of s6 (143/144/145) are ones that will have to be torrent individually though I guess. These are the ones where only umai is listed as doing them, whereas groups like MJN had done up until 142. 17/146: http://www.fileserve.com/file/MtjYmeB 18/147: http://www.fileserve.com/file/r9A4uAJ 19/148: http://www.fileserve.com/file/kGFEven 20/149: http://www.fileserve.com/file/txPd2eK 21/150: http://www.fileserve.com/file/Bm5vDqx 22/151: http://www.fileserve.com/file/AGs4wGq 23/152: http://www.fileserve.com/file/CCW6V9a 24/153: http://www.fileserve.com/file/C7jSW6T 25/154: http://www.fileserve.com/file/4bAadDu 26/155: http://www.fileserve.com/file/wxydXpM (aka OVA: Message) I've still actually only seen the first season (I think I might watch season 2 even though the movie is supposed to precede it) so it will be a while until I watch these, but might get them ahead of time. Once we have them, is anyone interested in putting together a batch on Nyaa? I've been thinking about learning to create them. The last batch I can see is 105-129 by MJN. A 130-155 batch for umai's work would be excellent. I'm actually kinda confused how this worked. MJN's torrent for up to 129 came out June 8, 2009. Umai showed up and picked up after them, doing 130-154 from April-October 2010. Then MJN comes back and does 139-142 during November-December. It's kind of like they approved of umai's work on 130-138, redid 4 of their eps, and I'm not sure if they approve of 143-154, but it doesn't look like they did it, so maybe they did or just gave up? Does anyone know what happened to the MinorJaNai torrents? I notice they are grayed out on http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/544.html now and not seeding anymore. Were they killed, did the server coordinating them go down?
I'm stuck a 59% for Ball of Friendship movie and 28% for S4 (79-104), both are the .mp4 versions, hmm. I'll give it time since I have faith in MJN and love their work and would like continuity, but I guess if this lasts might switch to AE/Saizen's S4. |

I stuck with MJN out of loyalty for them them subbing the sublime S1 when no one else was, and being the only group subbing Major for most of its run. But I agree, Umai did a nice job with S6 and I hope they do the new OVA as well.

I'm so glad I decided to marathon Major despite being in the middle of finals. It was such an epic ride, and more surprising was that I actually cried more times than I could count, which is a pretty big achivement for a shounen sports series.
It's been a while since I have felt this empty after a series... No. 56, Gorooooo Shigenooo! Man I'm going to miss that. |

So the Major manga will continue after 5 years [1]. I can't say I would have ever expected it, and as much as I adore the series, I'm mixed on this. I thought the original ending was incredibly conclusive and satisfying, but it's hard to say no to more of Goro Shigeno.

Is anyone following Major 2d? I really love the fact that is mainly about the kids and the former characters (except maybe shimizu) are only side characters... I've seen a image which could be spoiler, in an colab illustration with Mitsuru Adachi, but the story seems to be interesting...
