It is just me or does Rin's face look kinda weird sometimes? Anywho, the animations were great, especially that fight. I hope to see more fight like that.

Also, they did a rather blatant foreshadowing when Archer summoned Bakuya

While I never had problem with previous FS/N (unlike many others), this was definitely better. It was better in charactersation of Rin who is far more quirky than Deens one, animation and atmosphere was great and it nicely tied this with F/Z.

There is only one thing I don't get. If I remember correctly Servants should be able pick each other if they are close, right?

OK, I'm not watching this on a 240p live stream again.

ufotable nailed the prologue. The only main gripe for me was, like some mentioned, the lack of tension when Lancer appeared and during the fight scene. Other than that, it was great seeing Rin and Archer interact, and other familiar faces as well. OST is also okay for now.

Great quality, though the faces from the side sometimes look weird. But I guess that is the same in the original artwork, so in a way, it is loyal to the original designs?

Oh, and Issei(?)(forgot the name of the Megane guy)'s voice is way way too old.

Did anyone else notice the F/Z music at about the 18 min. mark? Really nice tie in. I did love Kajiura's music in Zero and hope that they continue to use some of the musical cues from it, not only to tie the two series together but also because some of the themes do carry over.

The theme also hits more prominently at about the 19 min. mark. I forget what the name of the cue is.

EDIT: Also, Rin looks so much like Aoi when she isn't all made up. I thought that was an excellent touch, also opening with the fragments from Zero.

Sasuga, Ufotable. Thank you for living up to the hype. It was great episode, great action. All around great except some weird face in the certain angle like everyone mentioned.

Glad they finally had an adaptation where Lancer disarms Archer and he keeps making swords in his hands. Been waiting to see it animated ever since I read the VN years and years ago.

I think you feel that the fight lacking tension because you already know the outcome.

The fight was like a dream if you compare to "the other adaption".

Probably that too, but I thought Lancer should've come across as more intimidating, given their positions. Would've preferred a more gripping BGM during that part.

I thought Archer always duel wield, why was he going single this time?

And in this new series since it's following UBW route is Rin the main character this time around?

No, seriously. There was no reason, and in both the DEEN anime and the movie, he dual wields in that scene. UFOtable just thought it'd be cooler that way (and they were right).

Nope, still Shirou. Rin's the love interest and deuteragonist, though.
