wow probably this chapter is one of the best I've read in a while in Magi. Mogamett finally went down the bad road and decided to say "screw everything".

I wonder what's gonna happen next.

Nice flashbacks. I think I like Mogamett.

It was interesting to see his old idealism. Reminds me of how Aladdin saw him as a very kind and big-hearted guy. Except past events ate away the half of his heart that cared about non-magicians.

It's interesting how his rukh is light, but switches right after he declares that he only wants to protect magicians. And how it doesn't just show the uglier side of humans, but shows him being haunted by grateful and thankful faces right before the switch. If black rukh means "cursing your fate" then what fate, exactly, is he cursing when he switches from light to black there? That he can't protect everyone? That would be interesting.

Well, his old ideas were to protect all humans, and it not like his ideals to protect only the magicians are totally wrong, but more like he treats humans like trash.

So my idea is that he's cursing his own ideals of protecting humans, basically he's cursing himself for all the things who happened in his past.

Cha.179, pg.16: Finally, he dropped his facade, he recognized that he has forsaken his love for normal human. As someone said, he is a tragic person but he still is a prick. If he activate all 3 Dark Djinn, all lv5 citizens probably will be killed instantly.

On the side not, Kou Empire is just like China, they mobilize a force of 200k soldiers just for a small country like Magnostadt. Titus will probably make a sacrifice to save Marga and Magno's people.

Anyways, I recall saying a while back that I saw the possibility of Moga becoming a dark djinn himself during the war. Considering how much he was pushed to the edge this chapter, I still find that particular idea pretty feasible......

So what we can tell from this chapter is that Mogamett and the magicians seem to have done what no one (not ever Al-Thamen) has done before..........

He has created true artificial djinn using black rukh, and now that it looks like he's fallen into depravity, he's ready to unleash his creations on anything and everything in sight.

Looks like Aladdin was spot on in his theory that the calamity he saw could originate from Magnostadt. I wonder if there's anything that can even stop a djinn, maybe we'll FINALLY see Alibaba get full djinn equip?

Huhm, I thought Al-Thamen already have Black Djinn knowledge ? Those 3 guys that attacked Aladdin group outside Zagan Dungeon did use Black Djinn equip, right ?

If Alibaba needed at least 30 chaps to make his appearance then Morg would be roughly the same. Who knows ? Maybe the author planned for her to show up in the upcoming battle between Kou and Magno ?

When I mentioned Black Djinn, I meant Black Djinn that were more like real Djinn in the sense that they don't end up killing their user after using djinn equip.

I could be wrong though, my memory of the earlier chapters is a bit hazy already

I don't think black Djinns kill their users after use, the three black kings that ambushed Aladdin&co outside Zagan looked like they were used to Djinn equip.
Cassim and Dunya stabbed themselves to use the real power of the black vessels, so the other 3 must have done the same sometime before the ambush, since they didn't have to do the 'sacrifice' again when fighting against Sindbad's Generals.

My guess is that there's no real side effect if a normal person's rukh changes from white to black and vice versa, but since black kings exchange their 'life' to obtain the power of a black Djinn(see Casshim's flashback), black rukh is what keeps them alive.
Aladdin and Alibaba changed Dunya and Cassim's rukh from black to white again, they lost their life force and ended dying.
That's just my theory though.

This makes sense. Falling into depravity doesn't kill you, even if all your magoi becomes black.

Becoming a Black Djinn, on the other hand, does kill you, because you need to offer your life to turn into a Black Djinn.
