Well, there was that bloody fight between Kusunoki and Hinoki, but it wasn't as lethal as this one. Not to mention the incident where Fiore tried to assassinate Kanon (thus, Apollo) with a headshot in the previous chapter... Recently, the gravity of the series has been notably increasing. Though I have no doubt the overall tone would remain relatively lighthearted, I welcome this slight transition from normality. Anyhow, does love heal all wounds?

And the flashback arcs in Sket Dance made me cry, and I rarely cry. But that's entirely on a different level. But yeah, I know what you mean.

well that sux if this is really the spoiler for the next chapter. i primarily read TWGOK because i like the easy go lucky feel to it rom/com then this happens its like a person dropping a brick on top of your head for the hell of it but lets see how this develops

I agree,i think that it's a good catalyst, since Keima little by little its changing however its needed something more drastic to make the change faster if its true then i like this development very much . So... a light hearted anime gets dark sometimes for the sake of development its a good thing if they don't abuse for it , i think that sket dance its a good example of it.

What I can think of on how Wakaki get the story out of this mess is only 2 fact that I notice :
1 From the last part of flag 115, Kanon glasses is magically disappeared
2 Apollo is god of prophecy
So, my prediction is ALL OF THIS IS JUST A DREAM. And the dream is real because the prophecy power. Next chapter we will have Kanon awaken from sleep (wearing glasses) and now she won't repeat the same mistake she did in her dream.
But if the glasses is only a mistake in Wakaki's part and will have them fixed in volume version, then we will have Haqua and Diana try to help Kanon and Apollo survive the day.
And Apollo using shimai 姉妹 to refer to her sisters may mean that she is not the oldest of the Jupiter's sisters.

Chapter 115:

I really liked the start of this chapter, with Diana and her umbrella providing some really nice chuckles ^_^. It's always great to have these scenes as they provide some really nice attention to details (passersby checking for rain ) but what really took center stage in this chapter wasn't the cliffhanger, but the overall mood of suspense and being stalked. There were a couple of visual gags here and there to help keep things from turning gloomy, though I worry if this will cause a negative contrast within the series.

Didn't I mention that though? Yes, you're correct. Things are becoming more and more dire, and everyone is playing for stakes larger than their own lives.
However, the main difference between this development and the Hinoki fight was that the former was, as you mentioned, no where near as severe as the current. I will admit that reading 115, the attempted assassination did provide the necessary suspense to have this play out naturally, though now I'm far more concerned in what follows ... Wakaki-sensei is clearly trying to outdo each previous situation, and I have faith in him to not simply insert these sort of events for the sake of shock value alone, though I'm having some conflicting feelings at the moment as this sort of thing is easy to screw up (I've seen it happen) but we still have nothing but text spoilers and some image crops, so maybe the actual chapter will bury these doubts.

But yes, that was a very different event. Still I can't help but remember that particular scene when ever a similar situation happens in a manga. I guess it was just that powerful.

See, this is a good thing. It can show have a positive effect on Kemia, that's for sure, and it could also show how he treats others around him and especially Kanon from now on. Sure it might have not been what I thought it would end up as, but at least it would give birth to a new dynamic between Kemia and the other members of the cast.

What I'm worried about is that all what Wakaki-sensei had in mind when he brought Kanon back as a Goddess holder was to simply advance Kemia's development before her becoming incapacitated (be it falling in a coma, losing the Apollo and her regained memories etc.). If all he wanted to do was bring Kanon as a stepping stone for Kemia's development instead of becoming a regular member of the cast, then I can't help but view this development with disdain, as Kanon would've been degraded into nothing more than a plot device used to further (and I suppose hasten) the protagonist development.

I wouldn't like that. In fact, I would hate developments like these as they go and trash the side characters in order to see what will be the reaction to said events, rather than try and help them break through into being part of the regulars. If it does end being that, it would serve as an acerbic twist to what seemed like a good development to Kanon and her fans. Part of what I loved in Sket Dance is that it tried and not had the main trio step over the rest of the cast in order to develop, but had them each get their own separate character arc with enough drama to not turn the manga bleak, but to have us feel with them and understand their situation.

Like I said before, it's probably unwise on my part to go on with only spoilers without the full chapter before me (and seeing how all this ends), but I have this nagging feeling that Kanon will end up getting horribly shafted . I may have not liked her initial arc, I may have only cared about her design, and I may have been indifferent to her character before, but if there was one thing this arc had done it is that it managed to make me feel sorry for Kanon.
