TBH, I find GG's plot incredibly weak and not as fleshed out compared to BB's. (Though it's still an awesome game I won't lie.)
If any Arksys series is getting an anime it's BlazBlue. The fact it's a fighting game could be incorporated with nice well-scripted action scenes but what really gives it a boost to get an anime adaptation is it's complcated and interesting plotline. (I also say those anime-style cutscenes in the game give it a major boost as well.) It could help explain the story better than the game does.

I think that's wrong, GG would make for one hell of a post apocolyptic action series.
BB on the other hand would make a "mystery" show with action in between, the only thing BB has for it is the Continuum shift portion where they could go Higurashi style and just retell it over and over.

ya he said that a while back for GG i believe, but i choose to ignore it as the license jumps around for it then who knows, Sega could aim for an anime and fail at it like they've done for most things they've tried to do in the last 8-10 years

Daisuke Ishiwatari also said that he still owns the license for GG not Sega, he's planning to release more GG in the future.
I'm not sure why he's not making any anime, he's not making much figures as well. He made these 2 games heavily influenced by anime and attracts otakus alot, yet he doesn't want the games to be selling more. Maybe he wants to keep it to just the game and music.

i actually have no idea what GG's story is. something about a war, gears, and some guy. (and i actually played story mode too)
BB has a much better story. who doesn't love brother on brother action with a yandere robot and potential incest?

Me? The cast of BB is very much inferior to that of GG as well.
And you can't say one has a better story if you don't what the other is. GGs story is normal science gone crazy, world is shit story. But it does it better than most and of course with STYLE lol.

well, since you didn't get what i said:
GG's story is fragmented and disjointed at best. most characters are half baked. no one really cared about GG's story. whereas BB got mostly universal praise for its story and development. there's a lot more story to BB than there is for GG.

For me story is the only thing I'll give BlazBlue in a Guilty Gear vs BlazBlue argument (graphics as well i guess, yet they're both fantastic). Besides that Guilty Gear wins it for me in every other category; Characters, music, level design, gameplay, movesets, etc.
I just love the over-the-top style of Guilty Gear way too much. Guilty Gear is a lot of chaos and weirdness (its story reflects this) and Blazblue has a more toned down style, heck the games are actually quite different.

I personally had no idea what the heck was happening in GG, plotwise. I gave up trying long ago.
I dunno, but to me, it seemed like GG made the character move sets first and made a story around that, just like most fighters out there. BB on the otherhand seemed to be the opposite, with the way you have every major character deeply interconnected to at least 2 other people in some shape, way or form. And the major plot of CT has most of the characters being major players in it, barring Taokaka and Bang who both are pretty obvious are just there for comic relief. Seriously, GG would make a TERRIBLE anime, just like the Street Fighter ones. You'd only really watch them for the action scenes. BB on the otherhand had an intriguing overarcing plot on top of interesting character relationship dynamics, which are the roots of what can be made into a good manga/anime/novel. As for what is the better game... I actually enjoyed the battle system of GG better, not to mention its music was much catchier (I still remember Holy Orders and Writhe in Pain to this day). But for story? I'd say BB wins handsdown, as I pretty much only played it for the story... and that's saying something for someone who generally plays games for their gameplay and rarely their stories.

No specific release yet huh? Just this year for Japan. If we're lucky NA might see it by Christmas time or so, but I have a feeling we won't get it till early next year.
