Anyway, I have a question for WN and LN readers after watching today's episode: is it true that unlike in the manga adaptation the King did not die or is this a change from the source?
The King, and everyone in the immediate lineage is dead.

He doesn't actually come face to face and see her until arc 4

In the anime MC starts to call Emilia Satella,is this the same in the LN?

If so was it ever explained why he thought her name was Satella to start with?

You probably should rewatch the first episode.

Yeah, that's what I thought. But in the anime Roswaal says he is "missing". Maybe this is still the case in anime, but cruchyroll translated that line incorrectly?

No, it's a case of translator not understanding the nuance of Japanese.

「お隠れになる」

When you say a royalty is "hiding" that actually means he/she has passed away.
It's a formal way of talking about a high blood's decease without directly addressing it, and reserved only for the highest noble blood.

But crunchyroll translators have time and time proved to be totally ignorant of Japanese culture, so *shrug*.

Watching the latest episode of the anime, it's pretty chilling for me what happened in the end there. Now it makes me want to read this WN. Can I ask how faithful the anime to the novel? And currently which WN chapter the anime is at? Should I read the WN right from beginning or the anime is good enough and I can continue reading right at the chapter the anime currently left off?

the wn is not translated but the 2nd arc of the wn where adapted to manga. its being translated. From what Aohige said in the anime thread, the anime is doing great in adaptation but they are still cutting corners but its fine. I'm fine with it, except for the lots of 4th wall breaking. In the manga, it has less bit of that.

Since I only finished v2 last week, it's fresh in my memory. Episode 4 is somewhat compressed and some info 'rearranged' but no real deviation otherwise. I kind of expected it and it can't be helped if they want to end on that cliffhanger.

And oh, I read the LN, not the WN, and not real sure whether there are any differences.

after read some "scary" stuff from pastebin (thx to whoever post it) its like play outlast using virtual reality at 00.00 am and max volume
maybe i agree with someone on other page to drop this anime for now
at last until finished airing, since each episode not only "dark" but the cliffhanger really made me suffering. plus this LN not VN which need a long years to finished.
thats why i dont like "dark" plot story which not complete yet.

btw i have suggest, while reading the LN you better listening this soundtrack

*good luck

Interesting, but what exactly allowed them to meet in person if she's supposed to be under a powerful seal?

Also, can you spoil what exactly happened during that meeting? If the Witch loves him so much, there's no way that she would have killed him, right?

The seal isn't as foolproof as everyone thinks and she's crazy.

During the second loop of the second arc, so Rem and Ram basically killed Subaru on their own initiative even though no one died to the curse?

I would say that the anime has a good adaptation, not bad just a few little things that they are not mentioned, but I can say that adaptation is good, in comparison with the second season of Tokyo Ghoul. While Rem and Ram were the cause of several deaths in 2 arc, Subaru had a good relationship with both before in previous loops.

Good. Nice to know it wasn't a arbitrary change by WF.

I was referring to the meeting in the fourth arc. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

The seal isn't completely keeping her from influencing the world.
Do you play Warcraft? You know how the Old Gods cannot break themselves from their seal, but still reaches out their darkness to the world and drive mortals and immortals insane? It's sort of like that.

I'd have to re-read the 4th arc to remember the details, but her lines in arc 4 was basically

"I love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you love you"

Then

"Love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me love me LOVE ME"

She's crazy you know.
