This game looks amazing. The characters and the designs look beautiful (quite literally), and the graphics and atmospheres of the places also look mesmirising.
I do hope that Motoi Sakuraba will return and compose the soundtrack. His previous works, notably Eternal Sonata, were amazing. |

A good reason to like the Xbox 360. This game features awesome CG animation and the battle system seems to be very similar to SO3 too. As for the protagonist, he looks like Fate Linegod in his 2nd alternative outfit (SO3). The overall character designs look awesome!

Edit: I forgot, I think they(Sakuraba?) already leaked the battle music for the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_G5TFZUbxMA If it really is from the game, then it's not his best, but it does grows on you. Probably will be better when you're actually playing. |

Aaah Star Ocean. . .why did you have to betray me in Till the End of Time? All four copies of the game I received/borrowed utterly crapped out on me D:
But, MAN. These latest screens are making me want to pick it up. . .bah, it's getting hard which system for me to buy D:

As most people know through my posts in the moe threads, loli is one of my nae elements.
And as my title suggests, the childhood friend (which Reimi is) ranks at the absolute top of all the moe elements there are. ^_^

Not yet, although it's been said that it could be out for spring '09, with a "simultaneous" release in all regions, just as they did for Infinite Undiscovery. We'll surely get to know more about it in a few days, once the Tokyo Game Show kicks in.

I personally like it, if only because it sets it apart from the majority of character designs out there, let alone RPGs. It really does make SO4 stand out IMO, and it makes it standout in a good way.
Then again, I'm of the opinion that if anime is to be turned fully 3d (no, cell shaded don't count) with big goggly eyes and all, it won't look much different from SO4. Unlike other Squeenix games (like say FF13 or Last Remnant), it really doesn't try to show realistic character designs, nor it tries to be.

I would definitely recommend this series, 'tis a great RPG. The storylines are garunteed amazing on each game, the battle system is great, the music is beautiful, and they also have unique and very Japanese character and background designs.
I personally adored the third game, and I just hope that this one can also prove epic to RPG gaming. But I am quite positive that it will. I am an easy audience anyway. |
