Here is another installment of "Forbidden Desire" I hope you all like it~ I'm putting them out in small sections because I like how it reads. Normally when I write a short story I do it this way as well. Bit by bit the reader gets the story and what is going on~ Think of the first part as a kind of prologue the story will eventually catch up to that point. So without further ado~ the beginning:

I slowly open the curtains the dry agitating fabric grated against the wrinkles of my fingers. My eyes squinted as I stared blankly out onto the streets. Another day has started. I would stand there for sometime watching the world interact. I was locked there, only shifting for the aching cries of my feet. I clenched my teeth, swallowed hard, but I was not out there with them… in there falseness. I was safe here. Out there in the light, I would be judged, looked upon as some creature to be pitied. Why must I see their false sympathies, while with my back turned they would grin with the smiles of harpies gossiping that my illness had made me hideous, made me wretched.

To there amazement, I lived past my expiry, a new one would be told to me by the village doctor, but I would live past that too. I had once cried out in lonely agony to have the illness take me. This world of duality where light and dark seemed to exist in all people. I hated that about people, you never knew who was kind… or who was false. I close the curtains shading my eyes from the brilliance of their light. Shielded myself from their scrutinizing eyes. I shuffled from room to room, but the misery I was brought in my loneliness was not on my mind. Rather, a companion, danced about in my thoughts.

I could not live alone forever, I had resolved to make a girl created by man without the judgemental nature of ones created by god. She would accept me. She would love all of me without judging my weaknesses, free of… avarices… I take up a book it’s dusty pages explain to me that it had been neglected like I, forgotten like I. I flip the pages the dirt between them staining my white fingers. To create a person, how must one do so. What was it that made a human? It was flesh, bone, blood, and soul. I grinned to myself knowing how I might get flesh, bone, and blood. However, a soul… how was it that the devil acquired souls? Did he need to wait until that person died? I do not have such time! I mulled over the book longer until it’s pages would give me no clues. I set it down on the side table to my chair and sat in front of an empty fire place.

My eyes fluttered closed briefly then opened once more. Within my dreams I could see her moving about in a field of green with me. She is youthful, playful, sweet and her eyes glow with a blue brilliance that even the sky would envy. I smile in my sleep rub an affliction from the sweat on my cheeks. She would be perfect for me. She would be free of the vile taint that we god children have placed ourselves in. Her voice is bright and gentle. “I adore you… whomever you shall be.” I said out loud, but my daydream would be rattled awake by a jarring knock at my door.

My eyes opened sharply. I gaze upon the door a human body was unfortunately on the other side. Would I answer it? Should I answer it? Was it a tax collector seeking payment… No it was not time for that. I groaned and rose from my seat and quietly made my way over to the door. I listened carefully. There was surely someone on the other side. Another knock came just as jarring as the other the wood within my door seemed to groan in the same displeasure as I. We were being invaded upon. I looked at the clock on the wall gritted my teeth at it. How dare someone disturb me so early in the morning. My hands shook. My eyes lost focus. I had to reach the handle… or would he go away.

Yes! He will go away, if I just move from here he shall think I am not home. Despite my hopes the knock came again. I paused frozen in my tracks. I wait hoping he had not heard me, until the voice of a woman came through the door.

“Mr. Winston…” the voice was unsure… or perhaps that was my wishful thinking. I stay quite still for a long time. The invader would not leave. I prayed, but realized I should not do so. I was forsaken no god would answer my prayers. I leaned closer to the door as things grew silent. Had she left? Again loud invasive knocks rattled my ear and my being along with it. “Mr. Winston, I know you are home you are always home.” How invasive, the sheer lack of propriety of this woman! I commit to simply leaving, but the knock came again so loud I found myself tearing the door open with my eyes a flame.

Seeing a person face to face… I shrunk. I shrunk quickly my flame put out in an instant. I smoothed down the mess that was my hair and grinned weakly interlocking my fingers innocently.

“Why if it isn’t Mrs. Cooper.” She was the worst of all people in this town. There was not a sneeze that escaped her gossip if she saw it. I force the best smile that I could, but she simply sized me up in disgust.

“Your garden, it’s over grown, your house is unsightly, and…” she looked me up and down I knew what she wanted to say, but her beliefs kept her from insulting me directly. Oh no she would rather do so to her friends, but I knew it would eventually come to my knowledge. I was much like my house I am sure. I simply nodded and apologised explaining to her that I would get right to it. She simply crossed her arms and sized me up one last time before turning rapidly and making her way. I cursed her… oh I cursed the back of her self centered head. I would enjoy watching her suffer. One who lives in the light, but has the forked tongue of a devil.

I slammed my door shutting their world from mine. I would have to do chores to satisfy the whim of an outsider. How disgusting. I just wanted to work on my beauty… then her and I we could manage this house. I would not feel this nagging of my heart… I could live again. I could… I looked briefly out pass my curtains. Venture into their world again. I paced about my house. I needed something anything to get started before I became crazy. I would need a vessel, what is more I would need a way to preserve that vessel. So many ideas crossed my mind, but I had to be sure it would work. I clenched my fist before my mouth and bit down on my index finger closing my eyes tightly.

I needed a vessel, do I make it? Do I collect it? How does one make a human body? I could not weave sand and wind and make a body as god had done. So… how would a mortal man make a body.

Very interesting and detailed story indeed

Mrs. Copper: A perfectionist that cannot stand the sight of something not done right (or simply a person who does not like things that are not straightened, cleaned, otherwise messy)

Mr.Winston: A man who was shot down at life during a young age (from my assumptions) catching some sort of disease that was said to kill him (again assumptions) seeing the world from his own eyes, that people are merely disgusting shells of who they really are (fake expressions, fake kindness) that god has forsaken this planet to lies, that he wanted to make a living body that is not affected by the taint of taint, corruption, lies, things from a human body. That he would not feel shunned by his appearance around her, and live a happy life with.

But my thoughts come in when thats said... I'm getting alot of thoughts....

1st thought: The title "Forbidden Desire" could be that the experiment will fail, and Mr.Winston will just have to live a daily life, since he will eventually run out of money. That his forbidden desire will lead him to some other female, that actually shows "real" kindness towards him.

2nd thought: The experiment actually does work, but with alot of effort having to be put in it. But it was finally completed, and Mr.Winston can live with his newly created living body.

I was surprised by what Daniel said also very helpful

I come up with silly thoughts of possible endings, always good to keep possible developments in mind as a story goes on from what I was taught.

Well that is a new add I never noticed any stubborn traits from Mrs.Copper when I read it.. Maybe i missed something o.o

Oh, when she kept knocking on the door till Mr. Winston eventually answered now I see where the stubbornness is getting at.

Here is the next part of Forbidden Desire. I'm so happy to see people discussing my characters~ You are right Chimuts she is quite a stubborn person. More of her character is revealed in this next installment~

I slammed my door shutting the light out. My hands they ached so terribly. I open and close them with a long groan as I slid down the splintered base of my door. I sat head bowed as I watched the dust and dirt spiral and dance under my breath. I loathed Mrs. Cooper for meddling in my affairs. There was far too much work to be done for one person. I raised my blistered hands up in the darkness and turned them over slowly. I needed these… I thought quietly. I need these to build my beauty and I can wait no longer. The sharp sound of my voice turning my thoughts into words startled me. I froze. Dare anyone listen in on someone as wretched as I?

I groan once more as I got up. My body ached as I moved as if I were a marionette whose joints had not been oiled. I grip at the wall paneling inching my body to my chair. The soft cushions enveloped me. I imagined it as the embraces of my future love, but the old musty smell broke me from my fantasy. Her hair… I thought carefully. I knew quite well the nature of her countenance, and her eyes, but not her hair. I though of white, but the colour was too much like winter… the season I hate. Such cold that gnashes it’s teeth upon my bone. Brown was much to plain for me. Blonde reminded me of the sun that I have come to hate. However… I paused at the blackness in the room across from my sitting room. The shade gives me peace, as my love shall. She will have black hair. I clapped my hands together in delight. Talking outside my door shattered the mood.

Anxiety took hold of me. Go away you vile creatures of god, I thought in my head hoping they would leave. The sound of Mrs. Cooper’s voice caused a jarring of my consciousness. What did that monstrous lady wish for now? My hands shook and hovered above my mouth, I wanted to stifle any sound, but they knew I was here.

It came, like a blast of a cannon through the door and into my sitting room. The brisk knock of a gentleman… Gentleman, so they like to call themselves, but they are not gentle you see. My door shall assure you of that. Voices came beckoning me to come out, but I refused. I must have time to think of my creation. The knock would come again this time longer and increasing in volume the longer he was made to wait. I called out a rasp came from my voice. The knocking ceased as I limped my way to the door. My hand hovered over the handle sweat permeated them. I open the door slowly to reveal two men both young and the woman who offended my senses, Mrs. Cooper.

“Good Afternoon Mr. Winston” one of the men said raising his hat. My jaw gapped slightly. Who were these people and why were they here. Why must they bother with someone such as I. A long pause passed between us as I looked to the other man. He nodded in greeting. I would not look upon Mrs. Cooper. “We are here to talk may we come in?”

NO! my first thought, but I shrivelled and invited them in. The two men looked about my house and sitting room with those usual scrutinizing eyes. Mrs. Cooper came in behind us closing my door as if it were her worse enemy. The rattle shook me, which caused the older of the two gaze upon me.

“Is it alright if we take a seat here Mr. Winston.” I nodded helplessly and dropped helplessly into my chair. I let my legs stretch out despite the guests- the younger one took note of that. Why were they watching me. Mrs. Cooper looked upon my furniture with such disgust, before sweeping one clean with her hand before sitting down. I wanted to throw each of them out, but I had invited them in. Now they shall suck the life out of me before they go back out into the world of light. “Mr. Winston” the older one started. He set his cap gently on his lap and sat up straight. “We feel that your illness has taken it’s toll and that you shouldn’t live alone.”

I agreed, but not out loud for they’d put one of those sun cursed creatures into my house. “So it has been decided that we will arrange a house keeper for you. She will also…”
She I thought… She. Could it be that the one I seek shall be simply given to me? My mind trailed away into thoughts of having the one I have always dreamed of arriving. She would carry a small suitcase and a black gown and white apron. She would tell me she’ll be taking care of me. My face must have coloured at the thought, for the older man cleared his throat. I broke my daze and looked back to them.

“So do we have your permission to allow us to help you?” I looked between all three.
“Why do you want to help me?” my voice must have been bitter for it seemed to take the gentlemen off guard.

“Well, we are brothers in the eyes of the lord and as such we’d like to help the lord’s most wayward sheep.”

Sheep. I scoffed in my head. Dare they compare me to some of the most stupid creatures on this planet? They confuse themselves, plummet to their deaths without warning, and eat anything despite the consequences. What if my dream is a god worshiper… perhaps if she is I could maybe see the truth through her eyes. I trailed off again until Mrs. Cooper whispered quietly that I was getting worse. The two men’s faces were grave. They talked amongst themselves as I pictured my maid cleaning my home and taking care of me. Oh such a lovely dream, I should win her heart and we will be free of our pain.

“Well then Mr. Winston, I am glad you shall let us help you. Until tomorrow then.” Tomorrow! She would be coming tomorrow? Has my life finally changed from this vile loneliness that poisons my very existence? I couldn’t contain my excitement which seemed to confuse the others. I hurried them from my house politely thanking them. Mrs. Cooper’s eyes, however, told me she sensed something was wrong. She gazed over her shoulder at me as I raised a blistered hand farewell.

I swung my door shut and shuffled into my sitting room to celebrate. She would be beautiful, she would be everything I hoped for. I couldn’t wait and I would see her as soon as tomorrow? Did that mean she was already here? Could she be? I peeked outside my lips quivered, but I could not see my guests leaving. I would have to wait….

Pacing turned to sitting, which turned to napping, then to reading before I could see the sun set. I went into the kitchen to make myself something, but I was no cook. I grasped some garlic, a few vegetables and began making a soup. It was not an appetizing smell, but I only wished to fill my belly. I cared not for soon I should have a beautiful lady taking care of me. I would find myself lost in thought for a long time.

The next day I woke early, I did my best to improve my appearance. I changed my clothes for the first time in weeks. I looked upon my face in a mirror that had long forgotten how to shine. I could do nothing for that in such short notice. I shifted away and stared upon my sitting room. I imagined having someone else there with me. My heart, I confess- was in a flutter. I paced most of the morning waiting for the maid to come. My impatience grew was I awake too early? I gazed out at the shops and open markets preparing for the day. I gritted my teeth at their smiles- their interactions. They always say “I hope you are doing well.” They do not care if someone is doing well, they do not care to hear your troubles. All of these things were ready made. They’ve lost their value and just an instinctive response. I would break my maid of such thinking… I would educate her over to my side.

I gazed to the grass covered walkway leading to my house. I wanted her to come so badly. I felt the sadness grip me, was I truly this alone? The curtains brushed violently against my hand as I pushed it further open. A passer by caught sight of me and hurried along. Was I so intimidating? What would she think of me when I she arrived? Dark hair, blue eyes, I thought repeatedly throughout the morning. Dark hair… blue eyes. A knock would soon come upon my door. I leapt up from my thoughts moved my aching body over to the door and peeled it open.

Mrs. Cooper looked upon me with a bright smile. The falseness of her kind behaviour disgusted me.

“Good morning Mr. Winston, I have brought the maid that Mr. Floyd and Mr. Grant spoke of.” I tried to look around the bulbous figure, but I could see no maid. I looked up at her annoyed and angry. She furrowed her brow at me then turned to reveal a young girl… Black hair… Blu- Her eyes were not blue. In fact she didn’t even have two eyes. Tuffs of hair in the front of her face was kicked up by a cloth covering her left eye. The other eye was brown… Ugh such a disgusting waste of beautiful raven black hair. She was short, dainty, carried a large suitcase and smiled weakly when our eyes met. Her skin was an odd colour as well.. Her eye an odd shape.

“What is that?” I asked revealing my social ineptitude. My words seem to have hurt her. She brushed threads of her beautiful black hair over one half of her face.

“That is your maid, who else would that be?” My displeasure apparent.

“What is wrong with her skin? Why is her eye shaped strangely?” Mrs. Cooper grew cross with me. Her face coloured appearing like a hog roasting on a spit.

“Now see here Mr. Winston! This young lady is from a foreign land, she is in need of work and she has been gracious enough to come here and take care of you. I suggest you show her respect, for you will not see such kindness from anyone else I can assure you that!” She set her hands on her hips as she gazed down at me. She was intimidating I withered and in a quiet meek voice I welcomed them in. The floors creaked under our hasty movement. My displeasure was too difficult to hide. I sat down sharply on my seat without offering either of the ladies a seat. The little one-eyed creature looked up at Mrs. Cooper whose nature softened and gestured over to the couch.

She would explain to me that this thing, was going to look after me and help me get to good health while they seek a skilled doctor from a bigger city. I did not understand why these people have taken such interest in me. They should just leave me alone. I recoiled away from the conversation pulling a leg up. Mrs. Cooper shook her head in irritation of my actions. I would hear that this girl would look after my well being as well as taking my medicine properly. I eyed the small creature up and down. She was so tiny how could she take care of a man like me? I could kill her so easily. Her small alabaster neck would break disjointedly under my hands with such a light squeeze. I pictured my repeated killing of this young girl and it gave me great pleasure. Mrs. Cooper’s words vanished into obscurity as I looked upon the girl. Why would she wish to serve a man such as myself. I could be twisted and evil and do all sorts of vile things to her.

How could Mrs. Cooper trust her with me. I have been lonely for such a long time, does she not know of my yearning? Has the god children forgotten that I have human emotions? Eventually she would stop speaking and look upon me. Her voice was firm asking me if I understood. I simply looked slightly from the young girl and nodded my head. With that Mrs. Cooper could stand no more of me. Rose up from her seat, she looked down to the young girl and told her some encouraging words. She nodded and looked to me with that single dull brown eye. I could see the fear in her body as Mrs. Cooper explained that I was of Jesus’ ilk and that there is nothing to fear of a god fearing man. I laughed within side myself which caused a crooked smile to appear. Perhaps the girl was now thinking twice about coming here.

The door closed, and it was but her and I. I shifted up from my seat, the girl tensed. I walked towards her and examined her closely. Her skin was pale, but with a hue different than mine. Her hair was so beautiful though. I reached for the left side of her face to see what was wrong, but she got up ducking under my arm. She moved quickly to the other side of the room. I rose slowly my eyes fixed upon her. She was trapped, for some twisted reason the villagers trusted me… I could do so much to this girl and no one would be the wiser.

“What is your name ugly thing?” I asked, but she didn’t seem to understand me or was too shaken to move. I grinned and moved over to her. I would see what was wrong with what is under that pretty cloth. She darted past and grasped her suitcase. Before she could grasp the handle of the door, I pulled my aching body and pinned the door closed placing all my weight upon it. “My name is Samuel Winston.” I looked down at her who looked away from me. “My name…” I grasped her in a spurt of anger that even surprised me “is Samuel,” She shunned from me. I shook my head and rubbed my temples.

What was I thinking…

Was having one of the creatures from out there that bothersome to my mental faculties? I swayed as I walked one leg stumbling over the other. I landed upon my chair causing the front legs to raise up slightly and crash loudly onto the floor. The little thing yipped in fright- which seemed to amuse me. With suitcase in hand she looked at the door than looked to me. What was she debating that had her so distressed. Was something out there truly worse than the type of person I presented to her? I thought carefully, perhaps she was like me after all and not like them. I had not scared her off as I had done to others I disliked. Her hair was pleasing, but her gown was too large to see if anything else was. Her skin was odd to me, and her eye plain. The cloth that bound her left eye was an intricate array of colour. A deep blue with golden embroidery around it. She gazed about my house then set the suit case down.

She moved over to me and despite her fear curtseyed. There was something unique about how she did it. She lowered herself and bowed her head at the same time. I found that oddity interesting.

“I … am…Mei” she said with such a strange soft voice. Her accent was clear in her words. Without a word from me, she started working about the house. She was interesting, always careful to hide her bad eye from me. Her movements were well timed and her behaviour was peaceful despite my scaring her earlier. She set to work in the kitchen first. I felt my curiosity peel me from my chair. I watched her quickly make short work of at least several months of dirt upon the floor. She washed the table, chairs, dishes, scrubbed the counters… She was amazing. That hair…

I found myself reach towards her hair when she brushed by me. That hair belongs to my love not this dull creature. I should like to have this hair… However, her body is not suitable from what I can tell. I grasped hold of her wrist when she passed me to start on another room. She looked at me timid. I raised the left side of her hair to see an intricate burn scar snaking from the cloth to her temple then to her hair line. The cloth was covering most of it. I grasped for that, but she meekly asked me not to. I lowered my hand and released her. She seemed sad by my actions. She avoided me the rest of the morning as she did her cleaning. If I entered a room she was in she would move to another. I grinned to myself and rubbed my chin. What was it that bound this creature to me.

It was entertaining to have something in the house with me. The pattering of her small feet which I had decided I liked greatly, set my mind into my dreams. I dreamed of a meadow away from this village and all of their eyes. There she was peacefully frolicking in the distance… Black hair… blue eyes. I felt a warm cloth wrap around my body which stirred me from my dreams. Mei had done this? She was not in the room with me. I looked about, but did not see nor hear her. I called out to her and suddenly the silence was broken by quiet foot steps coming towards the room. Mei entered and stood awaiting orders. I rose from my chair and was upon her again. She squirmed under me, but I couldn’t withhold my curiosity I had not been this close to a human in a long time.

I glanced at the burn wound then the rest of her face. Her face shape was pretty it looked like an apple. I pinched at her cheeks immediately creating a red hue. She winced and squirmed once more. I squeezed down her arm, the dress was too large. Her shoes too large. She was much smaller than these clothes would have one believe. I eventually let her go, she scurried away into another room and vanished from me. I would have to remedy those large clothes, I shuffled my feet and nudged her suitcase. The case flopped to the ground with a loud thud. The sound caused my heart to race. I knelt down to it grasped the little wooden handle and slowly unlatched it. Inside was an array of bright colours. What was this fabric? I collected them up, shiny and bright, each had flower patterns, butterfly patterns, and many other things I could not know. I lowered them back and found where she kept her eye covers. There were so many different ones. Was she some kind of princess with clothes like these? I closed the case when I heard her shift some things in a nearby room. I set it back up right and crept back to my seat.

She isn’t my dream girl, but she is intriguing. I wonder if she would make a good base. I could improve upon her… Yes, I could get her prettier eyes, and fix her left side. How would I do this… I rose up grasped hold of my book from it’s usual spot, but it was not there. I darted up sharply in fright. I glanced around the room, under my chair, and everywhere. I roared out Mei’s name which caused her to hurry in. She quivered before me as I yelled. She didn’t understand me and only shook her head. I stormed over to her and grabbed both of her arms causing the duster to fall to the floor. I dragged her over to the table and pointed. My gesture was enough as she meekly motioned at the bookshelf. Did she read it? Did she know the nature of that book?

I looked to her who gave a frightened smile. I released her and collected the book. She quickly hurried away, but my calling out to her stopped her. She turned slowly pivoting on her heel. She looked to me curious, worried that I would do something strange to her again. Perhaps I was obsessed with my little intruder. She would after all be the base for my true love. I simply smiled, she blinked then forced a weak smile. Yes, soon enough she will be everything I wanted.

I raised my blistered hands up in the darkness and turned them over slowly. I needed these… I thought quietly. I need these to build my beauty and I can wait no longer. The sharp sound of my voice turning my thoughts into words startled me. I froze. Dare anyone listen in on someone as wretched as I?

I groan once more as I got up. My body ached as I moved as if I were a marionette whose joints had not been oiled. I grip at the wall paneling inching my body to my chair. The soft cushions enveloped me. I imagined it as the embraces of my future love, but the old musty smell broke me from my fantasy. Her hair… I thought carefully. I knew quite well the nature of her countenance, and her eyes, but not her hair. I though of white, but the colour was too much like winter… the season I hate. Such cold that gnashes it’s teeth upon my bone. Brown was much to plain for me. Blonde reminded me of the sun that I have come to hate. However… I paused at the blackness in the room across from my sitting room. The shade gives me peace, as my love shall. She will have black hair. I clapped my hands together in delight. Talking outside my door shattered the mood.

Anxiety took hold of me. Go away you vile creatures of god, I thought in my head hoping they would leave. The sound of Mrs. Cooper’s voice caused a jarring of my consciousness. What did that monstrous lady wish for now? My hands shook and hovered above my mouth, I wanted to stifle any sound, but they knew I was here.

It came, like a blast of a cannon through the door and into my sitting room. The brisk knock of a gentleman… Gentleman, so they like to call themselves, but they are not gentle you see. My door shall assure you of that. Voices came beckoning me to come out, but I refused. I must have time to think of my creation. The knock would come again this time longer and increasing in volume the longer he was made to wait. I called out a rasp came from my voice. The knocking ceased as I limped my way to the door. My hand hovered over the handle sweat permeated them. I open the door slowly to reveal two men both young and the woman who offended my senses, Mrs. Cooper.

“Good Afternoon Mr. Winston” one of the men said raising his hat. My jaw gapped slightly. Who were these people and why were they here. Why must they bother with someone such as I. A long pause passed between us as I looked to the other man. He nodded in greeting. I would not look upon Mrs. Cooper. “We are here to talk may we come in?”

NO! my first thought, but I shrivelled and invited them in. The two men looked about my house and sitting room with those usual scrutinizing eyes. Mrs. Cooper came in behind us closing my door as if it were her worse enemy. The rattle shook me, which caused the older of the two gaze upon me.

“Is it alright if we take a seat here Mr. Winston.” I nodded helplessly and dropped helplessly into my chair. I let my legs stretch out despite the guests- the younger one took note of that. Why were they watching me. Mrs. Cooper looked upon my furniture with such disgust, before sweeping one clean with her hand before sitting down. I wanted to throw each of them out, but I had invited them in. Now they shall suck the life out of me before they go back out into the world of light. “Mr. Winston” the older one started. He set his cap gently on his lap and sat up straight. “We feel that your illness has taken it’s toll and that you shouldn’t live alone.”

I agreed, but not out loud for they’d put one of those sun cursed creatures into my house. “So it has been decided that we will arrange a house keeper for you. She will also…”
She I thought… She. Could it be that the one I seek shall be simply given to me? My mind trailed away into thoughts of having the one I have always dreamed of arriving. She would carry a small suitcase and a black gown and white apron. She would tell me she’ll be taking care of me. My face must have coloured at the thought, for the older man cleared his throat. I broke my daze and looked back to them.

“So do we have your permission to allow us to help you?” I looked between all three.
“Why do you want to help me?” my voice must have been bitter for it seemed to take the gentlemen off guard.

“Well, we are brothers in the eyes of the lord and as such we’d like to help the lord’s most wayward sheep.”

Sheep. I scoffed in my head. Dare they compare me to some of the most stupid creatures on this planet? They confuse themselves, plummet to their deaths without warning, and eat anything despite the consequences. What if my dream is a god worshiper… perhaps if she is I could maybe see the truth through her eyes. I trailed off again until Mrs. Cooper whispered quietly that I was getting worse. The two men’s faces were grave. They talked amongst themselves as I pictured my maid cleaning my home and taking care of me. Oh such a lovely dream, I should win her heart and we will be free of our pain.

“Well then Mr. Winston, I am glad you shall let us help you. Until tomorrow then.” Tomorrow! She would be coming tomorrow? Has my life finally changed from this vile loneliness that poisons my very existence? I couldn’t contain my excitement which seemed to confuse the others. I hurried them from my house politely thanking them. Mrs. Cooper’s eyes, however, told me she sensed something was wrong. She gazed over her shoulder at me as I raised a blistered hand farewell.

I swung my door shut and shuffled into my sitting room to celebrate. She would be beautiful, she would be everything I hoped for. I couldn’t wait and I would see her as soon as tomorrow? Did that mean she was already here? Could she be? I peeked outside my lips quivered, but I could not see my guests leaving. I would have to wait….

Pacing turned to sitting, which turned to napping, then to reading before I could see the sun set. I went into the kitchen to make myself something, but I was no cook. I grasped some garlic, a few vegetables and began making a soup. It was not an appetizing smell, but I only wished to fill my belly. I cared not for soon I should have a beautiful lady taking care of me. I would find myself lost in thought for a long time.

The next day I woke early, I did my best to improve my appearance. I changed my clothes for the first time in weeks. I looked upon my face in a mirror that had long forgotten how to shine. I could do nothing for that in such short notice. I shifted away and stared upon my sitting room. I imagined having someone else there with me. My heart, I confess- was in a flutter. I paced most of the morning waiting for the maid to come. My impatience grew was I awake too early? I gazed out at the shops and open markets preparing for the day. I gritted my teeth at their smiles- their interactions. They always say “I hope you are doing well.” They do not care if someone is doing well, they do not care to hear your troubles. All of these things were ready made. They’ve lost their value and just an instinctive response. I would break my maid of such thinking… I would educate her over to my side.

I gazed to the grass covered walkway leading to my house. I wanted her to come so badly. I felt the sadness grip me, was I truly this alone? The curtains brushed violently against my hand as I pushed it further open. A passer by caught sight of me and hurried along. Was I so intimidating? What would she think of me when I she arrived? Dark hair, blue eyes, I thought repeatedly throughout the morning. Dark hair… blue eyes. A knock would soon come upon my door. I leapt up from my thoughts moved my aching body over to the door and peeled it open.

Mrs. Cooper looked upon me with a bright smile. The falseness of her kind behaviour disgusted me.

“Good morning Mr. Winston, I have brought the maid that Mr. Floyd and Mr. Grant spoke of.” I tried to look around the bulbous figure, but I could see no maid. I looked up at her annoyed and angry. She furrowed her brow at me then turned to reveal a young girl… Black hair… Blu- Her eyes were not blue. In fact she didn’t even have two eyes. Tuffs of hair in the front of her face was kicked up by a cloth covering her left eye. The other eye was brown… Ugh such a disgusting waste of beautiful raven black hair. She was short, dainty, carried a large suitcase and smiled weakly when our eyes met. Her skin was an odd colour as well.. Her eye an odd shape.

“What is that?” I asked revealing my social ineptitude. My words seem to have hurt her. She brushed threads of her beautiful black hair over one half of her face.

“That is your maid, who else would that be?” My displeasure apparent.

“What is wrong with her skin? Why is her eye shaped strangely?” Mrs. Cooper grew cross with me. Her face coloured appearing like a hog roasting on a spit.

“Now see here Mr. Winston! This young lady is from a foreign land, she is in need of work and she has been gracious enough to come here and take care of you. I suggest you show her respect, for you will not see such kindness from anyone else I can assure you that!” She set her hands on her hips as she gazed down at me. She was intimidating I withered and in a quiet meek voice I welcomed them in. The floors creaked under our hasty movement. My displeasure was too difficult to hide. I sat down sharply on my seat without offering either of the ladies a seat. The little one-eyed creature looked up at Mrs. Cooper whose nature softened and gestured over to the couch.

She would explain to me that this thing, was going to look after me and help me get to good health while they seek a skilled doctor from a bigger city. I did not understand why these people have taken such interest in me. They should just leave me alone. I recoiled away from the conversation pulling a leg up. Mrs. Cooper shook her head in irritation of my actions. I would hear that this girl would look after my well being as well as taking my medicine properly. I eyed the small creature up and down. She was so tiny how could she take care of a man like me? I could kill her so easily. Her small alabaster neck would break disjointedly under my hands with such a light squeeze. I pictured my repeated killing of this young girl and it gave me great pleasure. Mrs. Cooper’s words vanished into obscurity as I looked upon the girl. Why would she wish to serve a man such as myself. I could be twisted and evil and do all sorts of vile things to her.

How could Mrs. Cooper trust her with me. I have been lonely for such a long time, does she not know of my yearning? Has the god children forgotten that I have human emotions? Eventually she would stop speaking and look upon me. Her voice was firm asking me if I understood. I simply looked slightly from the young girl and nodded my head. With that Mrs. Cooper could stand no more of me. Rose up from her seat, she looked down to the young girl and told her some encouraging words. She nodded and looked to me with that single dull brown eye. I could see the fear in her body as Mrs. Cooper explained that I was of Jesus’ ilk and that there is nothing to fear of a god fearing man. I laughed within side myself which caused a crooked smile to appear. Perhaps the girl was now thinking twice about coming here.

The door closed, and it was but her and I. I shifted up from my seat, the girl tensed. I walked towards her and examined her closely. Her skin was pale, but with a hue different than mine. Her hair was so beautiful though. I reached for the left side of her face to see what was wrong, but she got up ducking under my arm. She moved quickly to the other side of the room. I rose slowly my eyes fixed upon her. She was trapped, for some twisted reason the villagers trusted me… I could do so much to this girl and no one would be the wiser.

“What is your name ugly thing?” I asked, but she didn’t seem to understand me or was too shaken to move. I grinned and moved over to her. I would see what was wrong with what is under that pretty cloth. She darted past and grasped her suitcase. Before she could grasp the handle of the door, I pulled my aching body and pinned the door closed placing all my weight upon it. “My name is Samuel Winston.” I looked down at her who looked away from me. “My name…” I grasped her in a spurt of anger that even surprised me “is Samuel,” She shunned from me. I shook my head and rubbed my temples.

What was I thinking…

Was having one of the creatures from out there that bothersome to my mental faculties? I swayed as I walked one leg stumbling over the other. I landed upon my chair causing the front legs to raise up slightly and crash loudly onto the floor. The little thing yipped in fright- which seemed to amuse me. With suitcase in hand she looked at the door than looked to me. What was she debating that had her so distressed. Was something out there truly worse than the type of person I presented to her? I thought carefully, perhaps she was like me after all and not like them. I had not scared her off as I had done to others I disliked. Her hair was pleasing, but her gown was too large to see if anything else was. Her skin was odd to me, and her eye plain. The cloth that bound her left eye was an intricate array of colour. A deep blue with golden embroidery around it. She gazed about my house then set the suit case down.

She moved over to me and despite her fear curtseyed. There was something unique about how she did it. She lowered herself and bowed her head at the same time. I found that oddity interesting.

“I … am…Mei” she said with such a strange soft voice. Her accent was clear in her words. Without a word from me, she started working about the house. She was interesting, always careful to hide her bad eye from me. Her movements were well timed and her behaviour was peaceful despite my scaring her earlier. She set to work in the kitchen first. I felt my curiosity peel me from my chair. I watched her quickly make short work of at least several months of dirt upon the floor. She washed the table, chairs, dishes, scrubbed the counters… She was amazing. That hair…

I found myself reach towards her hair when she brushed by me. That hair belongs to my love not this dull creature. I should like to have this hair… However, her body is not suitable from what I can tell. I grasped hold of her wrist when she passed me to start on another room. She looked at me timid. I raised the left side of her hair to see an intricate burn scar snaking from the cloth to her temple then to her hair line. The cloth was covering most of it. I grasped for that, but she meekly asked me not to. I lowered my hand and released her. She seemed sad by my actions. She avoided me the rest of the morning as she did her cleaning. If I entered a room she was in she would move to another. I grinned to myself and rubbed my chin. What was it that bound this creature to me.

It was entertaining to have something in the house with me. The pattering of her small feet which I had decided I liked greatly, set my mind into my dreams. I dreamed of a meadow away from this village and all of their eyes. There she was peacefully frolicking in the distance… Black hair… blue eyes. I felt a warm cloth wrap around my body which stirred me from my dreams. Mei had done this? She was not in the room with me. I looked about, but did not see nor hear her. I called out to her and suddenly the silence was broken by quiet foot steps coming towards the room. Mei entered and stood awaiting orders. I rose from my chair and was upon her again. She squirmed under me, but I couldn’t withhold my curiosity I had not been this close to a human in a long time.

I glanced at the burn wound then the rest of her face. Her face shape was pretty it looked like an apple. I pinched at her cheeks immediately creating a red hue. She winced and squirmed once more. I squeezed down her arm, the dress was too large. Her shoes too large. She was much smaller than these clothes would have one believe. I eventually let her go, she scurried away into another room and vanished from me. I would have to remedy those large clothes, I shuffled my feet and nudged her suitcase. The case flopped to the ground with a loud thud. The sound caused my heart to race. I knelt down to it grasped the little wooden handle and slowly unlatched it. Inside was an array of bright colours. What was this fabric? I collected them up, shiny and bright, each had flower patterns, butterfly patterns, and many other things I could not know. I lowered them back and found where she kept her eye covers. There were so many different ones. Was she some kind of princess with clothes like these? I closed the case when I heard her shift some things in a nearby room. I set it back up right and crept back to my seat.

She isn’t my dream girl, but she is intriguing. I wonder if she would make a good base. I could improve upon her… Yes, I could get her prettier eyes, and fix her left side. How would I do this… I rose up grasped hold of my book from it’s usual spot, but it was not there. I darted up sharply in fright. I glanced around the room, under my chair, and everywhere. I roared out Mei’s name which caused her to hurry in. She quivered before me as I yelled. She didn’t understand me and only shook her head. I stormed over to her and grabbed both of her arms causing the duster to fall to the floor. I dragged her over to the table and pointed. My gesture was enough as she meekly motioned at the bookshelf. Did she read it? Did she know the nature of that book?

I looked to her who gave a frightened smile. I released her and collected the book. She quickly hurried away, but my calling out to her stopped her. She turned slowly pivoting on her heel. She looked to me curious, worried that I would do something strange to her again. Perhaps I was obsessed with my little intruder. She would after all be the base for my true love. I simply smiled, she blinked then forced a weak smile. Yes, soon enough she will be everything I wanted.

Mr. Winston has the traits of being a pedophile o.o

But to be serious, it seems that Mr. Winston tends to use what he has been given to create his "dream girl" since he cannot obtain a soul from the ingredients from his book, and the fact that the girl had the black hair of his dream girl. He will simply use whatever powers he has, and eventually re-sculpture her face to resemble what he wants it to look like, as well as everything else that he finds somewhat disgusting.

But after being alone for so long, Mr. Winston felt that he couldn't just be lonely again in this world, he just took the offer to not feel lonely anymore. But it was hilarious how he went into fantasy land during the discussion with "Mrs.Cooper" I thought it was Mrs.Copper and the other 2 guys. Its also hilarious how his entire imagination is shattered I also see even more features of Mrs.Cooper being stubborn

Mei seems to be a young girl that has been severely scarred in the past, with the burnt mark. It could be the fact that her parents died when she was very young during a fire, or any other disaster, murder case in which could leave a burnt mark. But she also loves trying out new things it seems, with her large suitcase full of accessories, it seems that she likes to change her looks very often. She is also very timid about being a "house keeper" since its probably her first time by the way she acts (or maybe she is very experienced with it, but the sight of Mr. Winston gave her a studder) or maybe its the fact that she just likes to work around the house without communicating with who was with her.

Well, with loneliness being involved, he is not used to actually chatting with people because of that reason. Since he is mostly locked inside his room for the majority of his time, he is not used to actually chatting with people in person, and not behind a door in which he tries to get them to leave then slam the door.

Yes the most possible reason for now is because she is kind and can't leave Mr.Winston alone. I think something big will happen in the next installment.
