Hmm. Well, Mikono is the type of girl I'm annoyed of, so yea, Zessica x Amata for me

I'd rather Zessica x Shrade if she has to get with anyone. Amata's too obsessed with Mikono so I don't think he'd be a good match for Zessica. And Zessica doesn't seem as obsessed with Cayenne as the other girls do so that kind of rules him out as well.

Jack of Clubs symbolizes Shame and its danger. You don't have to be ashamed of yourself.

Ace of Hearts symbolizes Love, the union between souls.

Ace of Diamonds symbolizes earthly goods, things that tempt us. Physical stuff, connected to good luck and fortune.

There are other meanings, but what I understood was that the shame needs to be overcame by the combination of love and lust Hence why he used those cards.

You know what, I like this idea far more than the cards being directly about the people. Excellent.

Moreso than the romance or the plot, the silliness inherent in the show and apparent in the fights really is what makes the show for me week after week. Stripping to heighten senses? F*** YAR, fanservice and lulz get.

WOW! This show has had more moments of awesome in 8 episodes than most shows manage to fit into 26. The comments back there have basically covered all the best stuff. A couple minor points though:

Amata buying Andy's picture is a pretty cool scene. He buys the picture because he sees Kagura in the background. Left to the audience to determine if it's more "to help find out more about this guy" or more "to get it before Mikono notices...".

kuromitsu: Mikono-Zessica moment? I think it was too. Seems they'll become friends, but because we also have the start of Zessica-Amata that friendship will get awkward fast, I'm guessing. That setup would actually make it easier to give Mikono a reason to run off to Altair: she'd see that Zessica likes Amata too, she can see the way Amata flies for Zessica all the time, etc.; classic triangle.

Vena: you're definitely right about how they're giving Kagura a protagonist-ish treatment. I do think he's going to turn out to be an actual villain -- Jin will be the "turncoat", imho -- but he's being given adversity to overcome and all that good stuff.

Beyond that I'm starting to get some fresh speculation going but I need more time to think before I can articulate it cleanly.

PS: mayumi, Lord of Pandemonium: thanks way back there for the info about lunar themes in the original, I really appreciate it. I would've said thanks a few pages back, but I try to stay way from this thread on Sunday to avoid spoiling myself. Thanks again.

I just realized something silly again, and most probably is not the case.
Sora (ソラ) from Amata Sora is sounds very close with Solar (ソーラー), perhaps it's a wordplay to hint something.

アマタ・ソラ --> ア, マタソラ --> あ, またソーラー (A, mata Sooraa = Ah, it's Solar again)

Amata is the part of Apollonius's soul on Vector Sol/Solar Aquarion that somehow magically after the reincarnation cycle turns into human

So this was a fun episode. Very funny and we got to see more of Altiar's motives and reason for fighting: they want to find a women that can survive in their world because all their women died/women stopped being born in their world so they are trying to prevent their species from going extint. As noble a cause as that may be, I can't help but wonder if there is more to it than that/be suspicious of Mykage.

Actually, now I'm researching the French Suits (I'm used to the others and normal Tarot cards), the readings of the cards change when they are put together. For instance, ace of hearts+ace of diamonds could indicate a forthcoming wedding, but he's holding five cards there, the jack of clubs usually indicates disagreements, but no idea together with the pair of aces.

Ace of Hearts alone can also indicate a "home" (to commit/settle), and Diamonds "engagement" (the ring is symbolic), all depends of how you read it. But I'm willing to bet it's more a combination of cards... since it makes more sense?

If anything, I'd say Jin is going to be our inside man (bad guy on the good guys side) if he is indeed the one-eyed transfer student (though I don't think we ever got a confirmation/source on that spoiler but I see no reason to doubt it. Seems like a good role/place to put Jin's character if he's not dead), and possibly the path through which Mikono is taken to Altair. He may just serve to be the devil's whisperer or tempter so to speak, and can play Mikono into his hands (his motif's been entirely about games) off of her jealousy towards Amata and Zessica. You'd think that after last episode Mikono would be a bit less critical about Amata's flight patterns but its played up again as a definitive flaw in her character and I cannot image that it won't get exploited somehow.

I cannot see Kagura *not* betraying Altair given the torture/shit Mykage is putting him through, and he's starting to not only have protagonist-vibes but tragic ones too.

I'd prefer the simpler representation as it fit so much more neatly, but you're right that it was peculiar for him to hold five cards and only show the face of the three. I had initially thought that it was meant to show separation, moving the Jack away from the two aces but then I couldn't figure out who was who amongst the cards, if I was trying to pin a card to represent a person.

As for Jin, he was beaten by all three of them and does he even know who it was specifically at the head?

Jin was calling them unattractive, lol, when compared to his idolization/love for Sylvia/Alicia (the only one even close to his idol is Mikono in terms of similarities), and later he got pissed that the pilots were not worthy of being their eve. Getting his ass kicked doesn't really change the former. He hasn't given off any Millia Fallyna vibes (ye old Macross reference) to care about who beat him, and he seems quite married to the mission and Alicia to begin with.

But that's what they call character development, I suppose, and his character hasn't really had any.

A fun episode this was. I know Sazanka was an interesting gal in the very beginning when we saw her fantasizing about Shrade and Cayenne, lol. Who knew she's a paparazzi, I am now very interesting in what her powers are.

Heh, I was wondering why in the beginning of the anime these guys from Altair are kidnapping women. Now it's all clear and I was kind of expecting it. You would think these Altarians (sp?) would send a peaceful message first instead of forcefully stealing women from another dimension.

Poor Amata is stilling being messed around by Zessica. What tease that girl is!

Lol! Me? I'm still rooting for Amata x Mikono. However Zessica is a close second so it's okay either way.

Other than that, DAMN this episode is awesome! Stripping power! Also love the fact that everyone in the command center (except ZEN, loli chairman, and some other) were going "KYAA" or were blushing at what happened.

Also I'm just laughing at Shrade how he wants to be part of the action too. Stripping with class! Sazanka is just so... amusing. I always thought she was really funny and can't believe she's involve with the photos selling too! Yunoha is going to be amusing to watch later as well hehe. Was pretty much expected for her to get Amata's picture considering how happy she looked when Amata was flying for her haha.
