I hope this is the right place to ask this question.
After waiting two weeks since I placed my order, I finally got my copy of EP 4 in the mail from HimeyaShop today. I've been going crazy waiting for it since the cliffnotes version of the Anime was leaving me extremely confused, so I couldn't wait to pop it in and play... ...but the MediaFire link to the patch on Witch-Hunt seems to be broken, and I can't use the Rapidshare link because I'm on campus at school and the servers to Rapidshare are always busy. Is there someone who could upload the patch to a working MediaFire link or Megaupload or something? I'd reeeeeeeeeally appreciate it; after seeing episode 11 of the Anime I'm just so utterly confused on what happened in the second arc, and I need to play, like NAO. |

Just because you don't know what it means doesn't mean you should make shit up
So, I've been playing through Umineko in moon lately, and I just noticed that Witch Hunt's translation of this particular line is, to put it lightly, a bit made up, and someone directed me here to inform you of this.
Here's the original Quote:

The same person who directed me here also pointed out that you said you were planning to clean up the translation of episode 1 earlier, so there is perhaps a decent chance you've already noticed this, but better safe than sorry. And either way, isn't publicly shaming people in itself a worthwhile goal? |

Pretty sure this is from Episode 1 chapter 2, the last remnants of the Wiki translation left in the patch. Believe me, there are more than a few lines with mistakes like this in the first 3 chapters, and the reason I haven't gone through all of them line by line yet is because there are about 2200 lines total in just those 3 chapters (Episode 1 has almost 14000 lines in it total, the equivalent of 30 episodes in a very wordy anime).
Could we do it line by line? Yes, and in fact we have done so for the last 5 chapters in the upcoming update patch, along with a couple hundred fixes in previous chapters. However, it'll take time, and unless everyone wants the EP5 patch to be delayed another month, some bits will have to wait. Also, if you consider a mistake in 2 lines from a game that contains 67652 of them to be public shaming, then I'm glad to see you have extraordinarily high standards for us It'll be a pleasure to try and meet them in the future.

Now my understanding of the whole novel changed.... Thanks anon... Now I figured out who the criminal is by your tip And I guess Witch-Hunt must be so ashamed they will close their activities now...

Okay this may sound like a stupid question but is there any specific things I have to do to get Umineko to run on Vista? The reason I'm asking is that I know there are certen things you have to do to get a Japanese game to run on XP so I wanted to know if I have to do anything before I install my copy (EP4).
Also if there are any other issues that I'll need to address could some one tell me about those too please?

Just to make things clear:
The responsible for this shit was me, back in 2007. Not them. Back in 2007, when EP1 was released, I barely had 6 months since I started to try to learn Japanese by myself. So I decided to force myself to learn a bit more by translating Umineko and sharing it with people intersted in the late Hinamizawa Club forums. Since no one was translating it, I gave it a try. I knew it was crappy quality (add to that my crappy english), but I guess today I'm a bit better than that Then came the witch-hunt and started to purge all that shit. (I guess it was just remnants of my stuff) And there were even worse mistakes. I have the files here, if you like bizarre stuff
