Again, if you consider them not wealthy enough (what with small population and NO industrial capacity and all) giving them one would be useless. And that assuming (usually fictiona) knight templars won't popping out protesting.

You sure? Anime seems to have Catholics as some kind of Badass order with a creed in just about every show they're in.

By badass you mean they're killing vampires and werewolves and witches who is seen as threat to their religion, their position vary from anti-hero to extremist depending on how their enemies portrayed. if they had badass, fanatical high-tech troopers, I don't SEE why they didn't try the same with I.S.

At least, that's what I think. Female Superiority is a no-no in conservative & radical Abraham people.

Some instead played the "Bunny Ears Hunter" card (especially if they're main characters). They're competent, yes, but they are incredibly quirky.

On the other hand, Trinity Blood takes the cake, mainly with the hot and nubile priest/cleric/nuns and all sort of crazy stuff subverting/deconstructing Fictional Catholicism (and I'm not even a Christian).

Idea: If Italy is closely tied to the Vatican, maybe they get asked for advice regarding the IS. Supporting it could show as a "Peace Movement" by showing the weapons can be used for good.
