Emm. I'm looking at 2ch response. There are many criticisms, especially with the super fast pacing and directions. Dun know since I haven't watched the episode.
Otherwise, it is getting good response. Actually, extremely good. Atmosphere seems to be much darker due to the colour palette. Animation itself is generally claimed well. I can't wait to see its aired version.

That was... a very fast paced episode... I wasn't expecting them to reach the microwave part already.
Even if I've played S;G beforehand, they certainly went crazy on the pace, so I wonder what will be the first timers reactions. But the major problem I have with this episode is that... more than 80% of the episode doesn't have ANY BGM. None, nada, nai. Honestly, I was really surprised by that: it took 8 minutes before we get any BGM, and it certainly doesn't run for long. I dunno, it is fairly better than Chaos;Head in term of mood, but the mood itself relies way too much on the deadpan impression (due to few empty moments + no BGM), and a very dark (literal meaning: washed colors and brightness being set to a very minimum setting) setup. Hopefully, this was structured this way only for the prologue...

The microwave and time change were the only things I understood. I'm sure it'll be more interesting once I can grasp things. The atmosphere is dark and the characters weird but amusing so I'll stick to this.

I think the action part in the second half of the original VN can probably be dragged out in the anime. I cannot imagine the anime can create fluff episode as the original game follows events that is constrained within a few weeks. |

I have these thoughts that the episode we saw earlier is just a pilot episode, and the episode might have improvements on its official release. The production team might just be checking out how hyped the show is (especially with Madoka Magica tying-up with Steins;Gate to promote each other).
100,000+ viewers in the first hour of broadcast is definite proof that Steins;Gate is hyped. If it is really good... we have yet to find out.
