Damn it, Japan. Another of my girls is finished. Well, I still have some Kaminomi hope in there.

Denpa Onna's zeroed. The bracket really screwed them with Erio gone by Round 1. Good luck next year I guess.
At least they did better than K-On!

Too bad the girls are underappreciate, much like the anime itself...

And I really wanted Maekawa to win as well. Guess that did not work. Looks like the upset turned out to be unsuccessful; Madoka still crushed them.

D2-1 Maekawa (Probably one of the cosplay girls remaining in Japan Saimoe. She needs to be more prank and direct to the point to bag herself the prize she was aiming for. Only Nero has the potential to compete with her, the other needs her twin which would only lead to split decisions.)
Maekawa and Nero duke it out like how Jordan and China but in the end, Nero soared with a 7 vote lead to get through. Madoka winning without those assassination attempts against her makes her fans feel relieved.

Round 2 Result 5-5, Victorica victorious, Finally it's Ika Musume's turn to glow.

Picks for 9/26/2011
C2-2 Laura Bodewig (Just watch the last five minutes of episode 8 and first three minutes of episode 9, to show how Laura have changed for the better, although Hercule poss a big threat to her, another tight battle coming in your way, with Eclair may put a fight again voiced by the seiyuu who is recently reversely popular to others.)
D2-2 Ika Musume (Time for her to do some Tsu-nIka walk to gather more votes aside from being moe will she always foil her Invasion plan, Shiro and Yui can't poss any wall of stones to prevent Ika-chan from advancing further.)

You need lots of [moe] power to escape the universal law of Enkan no Kotowari (円環の理). Second stringers are just going to disappear before they bring grief to the world [of the Madoka supporters]. Maybe a level 5 or a squid queen could do it. Or maybe they'll just disappear like the rest

Maekawa had a close fight but still lost. Really have got to find some day to watch Milky Holmes to see why its so moe

Ika winning should not be a problem. No real threat of assassination. For the other match, hopefully Eclair win as eye patches are a real moe killer for me.

Oh man, more disappointment. Round 1 played like an odd year Saimoe. Round 2 is playing like an even year Saimoe. Upsets fucking where.

Today, Eclair and Ika.

I'll just use the old 'harder to pick than a broken nose' cliché and be done with it. For the punters out there, and I hope this ain't a kiss of death when I tell you this, I think putting some 'quid on the squid' would be a good thing today.

On the other side can another Eclair (some eight years after the names last appearance) to triumph or will it be a detective double act victory? As I struggle to read the tea leaves on this one.

Commiserations to MM! & Denpa; you played strong and done fine to get this far but sadly only a second stage rocket and not the full 'Saturn V' for you.

For a minute there, it looked like Madoka was going to try and win more support by not running up the vote total when it looked like her competition decided not to continue.

C2-2 Support Laura Bodewig:
Not really interested in C2-2, but my thought is if Denpa Onna can lose support with only 1 representative, Charlotte Dunois would want to avoid being the only representative left if IS (assuming she reaches the 3rd round) if she is to have a chance against either Sayaka from Madoka or a Railgun representative (with Huang already eliminated and Cecilia/Houki waiting for their matches).

D2-2 Support Yui Kotegawa:
Ika Musume is my prediction, but I doubt she needs my support.

Yesterday's Results:

Ingrid Sorveig Sorgríms - 56
Isurugi Mio - 119
Kaname Madoka - 333

Yuzurizaki Nero - 218
Maekawa-san - 205
Ritos Tortilla - 71

Madoka ends up beating her Round 2 opponents by a fair bit more than she beat her Round 1 opponents. She received nearly two-thirds of the votes which is the highest percentage so far this contest. Even as one of the weaker Round 2 characters, Isurugi Mio shouldn't be complete fodder. She didn't have a chance at winning but I expected her to do a bit better than this against Madoka. I turned out to be off by a bit on calling Maekawa to win. Nero manages to just barely get past Maekawa.

Today's matches:

Laura Bodewig vs Eclair Martinozzi vs Hercule Barton
Ika Musume vs Tougi Shiro vs Kotegawa Yui

Eclair won't be able to do much in the match. It's a showdown between Laura and Hercule. It's really hard to tell who is stronger between the two. Neither comes from a weak series, either. I think I'm going to side with Laura in this match but Hercule could very easily win the match as well. Ika Musume cruises through her match. Her opponents aren't strong enough to be a threat.

Votes:
Eclair Martinozzi
Ika Musume

Predictions:
Laura Bodewig
Ika Musume

Today i'm rooting for Hercule (though all are good) and Ika.

What a disappointing result, but this was expected to happen anyway.

Accuracy of prediction: 2-0 (day), 69-37 (overall), 8-2 (round 2).

Spoiler for September 26:

It looks likely to be a blessed relief for our fingernails so far - as the graphs are 'tending true' with no obvious surges and the margins being fairly constant. This should steady some nerves out there today [hopefully], especially after yesterday's excitement and closer than close battle.

The prayers of the faithful will not be denied this time. Madoka soared high above her opponents, far beyond practical sniping range to advance to Round 3. With Maekawa's exit, the Denpa Onna faction is done for 2011.

Picks:
C2: Eclair Martinozzi
D2: Ika Musume

As long as it isn't eyepatch, its all good.

Ika didn't break the percentage record it seems. But then again when you've got speed, power and nimbleness [and moe], everything seems easy
