Barring a real Pro spinoff, this is the closest we'll ever see how some of them play, plus their abilities.

What I really like about Achiga and Shinohayu is: they have fixed/constant release date, unlike how the main series currently is

For me, these spin-off/side stories are what remind me that Saki series is existed

Oh, look like translated chapter 1 with proper Japanese name is out now.

Found these maps while skimming 2ch, showing the regions in which Shinohayu takes place:

Matsue/Lake Shinji area
Tamatsukuri area

Lightening the mood a bit...

Note that, in light of what we KNOW, the right 4koma panels don't make any sense (as Teru's already played against Satoha before in the Individuals the previous nationals).

That's definitely one match I would love to see illustrated. Teru, Satoha, Kei. Did they ever mention who the fourth player was?

They said Shino ran about 7-7.5 miles to get to the tournament. Seeing how is around 10yrs old, that is pretty damn impressive.

For a little girl who has Mommy Issues, distance is no obstacle.

Tried to find the one I was talking about but couldn't find it. On that map I think its from point B to point J which seems a lot farther .

12km from the convenience store to the bridge on foot. Of course, we don't know how far she still has to travel after that.

It seems there's another map. Yokohama area. Almost within striking distance of where Uta's school would be, funnily enough. Also, Tamatsukuri area was updated.

It takes 2 hour 29 min for her to travel 12km from the convenience store to the bridge on foot. Moreover, i dont know how far km the rest of route is. It is pretty impressive girl. I wonder why does not she travel by train.

Shino mentioned that she wouldn't have any money left to buy food if she took the bus or train (p. 78).

On a meta level, now, it just won't be as dramatic if instead we see her wait like half an hour for the train, would it?

Now, I'm waiting to see who or what is "Hayu" in "Shinohayu"

Is 'hayu' has any meaning in Japanese?

No idea about the Japanese meaning, but if I were to guess, hayu has something to do with Shino's ability.

I don't have a button anywhere 'that cute'. Nice to see a few of the older 'loose ends' of the plot being attended to. I anticipate a surprise twist to follow now that we have gotten to know her a little bit better.
