That i can agree with. For some reason its just the two ED's that work perfect for Death Note. First OP was fun, though the song failed at feeling like it should be apart of the Death Note story. I don't even have to talk about the second OP song, though the video is a work of genius.

Here's the music video for the Ending theme, Zetsubou Billy. MtH wrote the song specifically for Death Note, unlike the OP (which was one of their older song). Watch the music video, and you'll see why. As you can see, Kira is killing off band that looks suspiciously like Nightmare, the guys who sang the previous opening theme song. (as well as tons of other Japanese artists and showbiz people lol) Too bad they cut out the part where they yell KIRA! my name is KIRA! out of the ending though. The second half is the better part of the song, IMO, but they mostly only used the first part of the song in Death Note anime ED. Spoiler:

LOL, I never expected to hear death metalish growls in an anime opening song.
As for the episode - not good. These Yotsuba dudes are simply worthless adversaries for the main characters, leading to large levels of boredom. And them agreeing to postpone the murders seemed like a copout to me, forcing L and the rest to choose between allowing the murders to happen and making his move too soon would have been much more suspensful and would have allowed for more character development, IMO. And I am convinced that Misa is practically braindead but even for her accepting such a suicidal mission was almost too dumb. But she is in the new opening so we know she won't die soon which is too bad.

I liked this episode.
Hopefully we will learn more about the 'overall' plan Light setup way in the past to get Misa out of L's radar soon. I think it's cool that Light is a completely different person without knowledge of his Death Note. I myself am interested to see who of the Yostuba group is 'Kira' (If any of them). |

Yes, the breakdown was the best part of the song. Most of the rest of it (1st and 2nd verses mostly) suck. If it was a parody, it'll be mediocre.
I repeated the OP and ED just to LISTEN and WATCH the whole thing again. Freaking awesome. As for the episode itself, it kept me on the edge of my seat even though all the talk was long and boring. Don't know why. |

Any awesomeness this episode had [ and any episode that has Misa Misa-chwan is automatically awesome ] was lost because of the OP and END
I mean, seriously, WTF? I detest the music they use for the Op and End. The previous Op and End were so infinately superior, on a scale of 1 to a 100, the old op and ending is a GOOGOL compared ot the minus 100 hojillion billion gazzillion. of the current OP and end |

Wow, I can't believe so many people are complaining about the series right now. Personally, I think this is the series in its true element, and the fact that they're leaving some details out in the anime compared to the manga is only going to make

The opening song was the worst thing I've ever heard in my whole life. If I was one of the members of this "music" band I would be ashamed of living in this world, seriously. "HEY HEY NINGEN SUCKER, HEY HEY NINGEN FUCKER"? LOL. They think it's smart or funny? Whatever. The ending song is awful too but at least it can be heard without destroying your ears. The animation on both is awesome though.
I liked the episode fair a bit. It was mediocre as every Yotsuba episode, the second part was stupid, but the first part was fairly interesting, mainly because the direction was good (it seems to me that the people in Madhouse are trying the best to make this arc look at least mediocre and not just plain bad). 6/10 |
