Not really the same.
The first game was... well, the first game.
Burst's story was like a remake of the first's story, following the basic outline the same, but generally changed for the better.
Gaiden hasn't even came out (for Vita-chan), but there are new characters, so I doubt it could be the same story.

Yep, new look. Stories, specials, those miscellaneous stuff added.
Characters section changed to have three hidden characters, but they are pretty predictable.

Alright, some info about the OP and ED. OP will be done by Sayaka Sasaki who recently did the OP for Dakara Boku. I loved that song so hopefully this will be just as good.

There will be three ending songs for a combined 10 seiyuus performing it. This is sounding like so much fun already.

I just came across a couple month old interview with Senran Kagura creator Takaki and his quote at the end of the article really makes me glad he made the series and now we'll soon get an anime.
