Have you tried City Hunter? It's a comedy-action series and I think it (more or less) captures the essence/feel of 80s & 90s anime. If you can't find the anime, you can also check the manga.

Angel Heart is set in the City Hunter universe, and has many of the same characters. I've never really made up my mind on whether it's as good or not, and tend to settle on "more of the same".

There's always the numerous Lupin shows as well. Poster-child for that type of olden-goldie style and humor, in an era when men acted like men.

Another show in the vein of City Hunter is Cat's Eye. Fairly classic tale of the pretty and smart thieves, chased by a detective who unknowingly is attracted to their real life persona, set in that classic 80s-90s charm.

It feels like years since they've been updated, btw.
Also, cake.

Just to clarify - are you specifcally looking for titles with humour and/or content in the 1980-2000 period similar to Golden Boy and GTO? And perhaps other titles with humour of the 80s-90s style?

If so, I'd suggest the following: (titles more like the three you mentioned, I've put an * next to, but it'd be worth checking out any of the titles listed. I'd recommend most of them personally as good titles)

Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star)*
Meitantei Holmes (Sherlock Hound)
City Hunter*
Dirty Pair
Project A-ko
Kimagure Orange Road
Gunbuster
Patlabor: Mobile Police (OVA and TV series, not the movies)
Riding Bean*
Irresponsible Captain Tylor
Dragon Half
Martain Successor Nadesico
Slayers
Geobreeders
Gunsmith Cats
Cromartie High School*
Cutie Honey (1973) and Cutie Honey Flash (1997)
Ebichu*
Salaryman Kintaro*

Hope you find some titles you like. Enjoy. And kudos to you for liking Golden Boy. I wish more people knew about it.

In that case, they all qualify in sense of humour and most of them have the ecchi factor too.

I have one recommendation that stands head and shoulders above the others: Excel Saga .

It's not only one of the funniest anime ever, it's also one of the most mind-bendingly insane. Some would call this the greatest comedy anime ever.
